Join our Strategic Alliance Sales Team!

Akamai is enhancing its channel-first approach by adding a Partner Account Executive to improve reach and partner success supporting Optiv. The Partner Account Executive will manage relationships, drive business, and establish long-term growth strategies. Responsibilities include aligning strategically, empowering partner sellers, and boosting pipeline creation within Akamai's partner network. This role focuses on fostering collaboration and expanding opportunities across the ecosystem.

Drive growth by managing strategic relationships with partners, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives. Collaborate effectively to identify opportunities, develop solutions, and achieve revenue targets. Maintain communication and foster mutual success through proactive engagement, support, and resource sharing.

As a Partner Account Executive, you will be responsible for:

  • Owning and developing the partner relationship
  • Developing and executing a joint business plan aligned to Akamai's strategy, including targets for deal registration, pipeline, and growth
  • Launching and drive distributor onboarding, training, and certification initiatives to activate their sales and technical communities.
  • Partnering with Akamai Partner Executives and Major Account Executives to ensure distributor actively sources, registers, and supports new opportunities
  • Leveraging distributor marketing resources to run campaigns, sponsorships, and events that promote Akamai solutions and drive demand
  • Facilitating quarterly business reviews (QBRs) and executive meetings to track performance, remove roadblocks, and accelerate growth
  • Working closely with Akamai direct sales, channel leadership, operations, and marketing to maximize distributor impact
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams of sales engineers to ensure successful consultative engagements with partners and customers

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

  • 8+ years in distribution, channel account management, or partner facing sales roles in the technology industry.
  • Have experience managing Optiv or VARs with similar go to market strategies.
  • Have an understanding of distributor go-to-market models and the value they bring in scaling vendors.
  • Have a track record of building and growing partnerships that deliver revenue results and quota achievement
  • Have experience in security, cloud, or networking solutions
  • Have the ability to travel to events and meetings as needed.

Compensation

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For US based candidates only - The On Target Earnings (OTE, base salary + commissions) for this position ranges from $173,600 - $312,400/year; a candidate’s OTE is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. Compensation for candidates outside the US will vary. The compensation package may also include equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP). Akamai provides industry-leading benefits including healthcare, 401K savings plan, company holidays, vacation (in the form of PTO), sick time, family friendly benefits including parental leave and an employee assistance program including a focus on mental and financial wellness; Eligibility requirements apply.
