Role Overview

Cyclops is looking for a highly organized, proactive, and adaptable People & Operations Specialist to help keep our team and business running smoothly as we scale.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys wearing multiple hats, creating structure in a fast-moving environment, and jumping in wherever needed. You’ll own and support core People Operations processes across the employee lifecycle while also contributing to broader operational initiatives across the company.

As an early-stage startup, our needs will continue to evolve. Success in this role means being equally comfortable coordinating a new hire’s onboarding, improving an internal process, maintaining critical company information, and jumping into a cross-functional project that needs an owner. You don’t need to have done everything before, but you should be resourceful, detail-oriented, eager to learn, and energized by turning ambiguity into action.

Key Responsibilities People Operations & Employee Experience
  • Coordinate the employee lifecycle from onboarding through offboarding, ensuring a consistent and high-quality experience for every team member.
  • Manage onboarding logistics, including documentation, system access, equipment coordination, training schedules, and cross-functional onboarding activities.
  • Maintain accurate employee records, organizational information, role documentation, policies, and other People Operations resources.
  • Support employee engagement, culture, recognition, internal events, and team-building initiatives.
  • Assist with performance management, feedback cycles, goal-setting processes, and other employee programs as the company grows.
  • Serve as an approachable first point of contact for routine employee questions, escalating sensitive or complex matters to leadership as appropriate.
  • Support the administration and continuous improvement of HR systems, benefits, payroll coordination, and other People Operations processes.
Recruiting & Hiring Support
  • Support hiring managers and leadership with job descriptions, interview coordination, candidate communications, and recruiting workflows.
  • Coordinate a professional and responsive candidate experience throughout the interview and hiring process.
  • Maintain recruiting documentation, interview materials, and hiring process trackers.
  • Support the transition from candidate to employee, ensuring a seamless handoff into onboarding.
General & Business Operations
  • Support cross-functional operational projects and company priorities based on evolving business needs.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify, automate, or improve internal processes as the company scales.
  • Assist with company meetings, internal communications, team events, and other operational initiatives.
  • Take ownership of new and evolving responsibilities as the company grows, bringing structure, follow-through, and a willingness to figure things out.
Required Qualifications
  • 2–5 years of experience in People Operations, HR, business operations, startup operations, project coordination, or a related role.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities at once.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively across teams and levels.
  • High degree of discretion and sound judgment when handling confidential or sensitive information.
  • Proactive, resourceful, and comfortable taking ownership without waiting for detailed instructions.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment where priorities and responsibilities may evolve.
  • Strong follow-through and a bias toward action aka you enjoy getting things done and making processes work better.
  • Familiarity with HR, project management, collaboration, or other business operations tools.
Reporting Structure

Reports to: COO

Partners closely with: Executive Leadership and Hiring Managers across the company.

Why This Role

For someone who is curious, highly organized, and excited to build, this role offers the chance to develop experience across both People Operations and broader business operations rather than being limited to a narrow functional lane.

Location: Fully Remote

We are open to candidates based within the U.S. Eastern or Central Time Zone.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer competitive compensation designed to attract exceptional talent and reflect the experience, skills, and impact you'll bring to the team.
