It's changing lives and transforming an industry. People join Halter to do meaningful work. By joining us you’ll be solving challenging problems within a talented team and a culture built for high performance. Our team out-think, out-work and out-care. The role

This role sits inside a team that takes people and performance seriously - not as an HR function on the periphery of the business, but as a genuine commercial partner within it. It's a role where the work is real and the impact is visible.
You'll work closely with managers across our Customer and GTM teams in Australia to develop performance, strengthen leadership, and navigate complexity early. You'll be close to the work and the people, not operating from a distance.
Day to day, that looks like: coaching managers through difficult conversations, handling early ER matters with confidence, spotting patterns before they become problems, thinking through Australia as a region (not just how the GTM team are functioning), and building clarity and accountability into how teams operate. You'll carry signal up and bring perspective down.
You'll report into the Senior People & Performance Partner - GTM and work alongside a tight team of partners who operate the same way: with judgment, not just process.

What we're actually looking for

We'd love someone with HR experience, but we're genuinely open to people who've developed these skills in less traditional ways. If you've spent time in roles that called for commercial judgment, clear communication, and navigating people challenges without a set playbook, we'd love to hear from you.
Beyond your background, what matters most is that:

  • You think commercially.

  • You're comfortable holding high standards even when it's easier not to.

  • You can challenge someone directly and care personally.

  • You move at pace, can make calls with incomplete information, and bring precision rather than process.

  • You know the difference between signal and noise, and you bring the former.

What this role isn't

This isn't primarily a policy administration or process management role, and it isn't a support function that sits behind the business and reacts.. If you're looking for a highly structured environment where established 'HR best practice' guides every decision, this might not be the right fit - but if you're energised by ambiguity and real problems, it could be a great one.

The environment

Halter operates by a set of principles we genuinely live by: absolute ownership, max velocity, operating from first principles, and playing for the front of the jersey. That shapes how decisions get made and how we operate.
We operate in a high-performance environment - feedback is direct, expectations are clear, and the standard doesn't drop for comfort. If that sounds like somewhere you'd thrive, this would be a great role for you.

Join our team

Halter is committed to promoting a diverse and inclusive workplace — a place where we can each be ourselves and do the best work of our lives. Research shows that while men apply to jobs when they meet an average of 60% of the requirements, women and under-represented groups of candidates tend to only apply when they meet every requirement. If you think you have what it takes but don’t necessarily tick every requirement on this job description, please still get in touch and apply to Halter. We’d love to chat to see if you’ll be an epic fit!

If this opportunity sounds like you, please apply below by sending through your cover letter explaining why you’re excited about this role and working at Halter, along with your CV, and we’ll be in touch!

Why our team loves working at Halter:
  • Work that genuinely matters. Every now and again a company comes along that transforms an entire industry and leaves the world in a better place. Our team gets to be part of something truly meaningful, helping farmers improve their livelihoods, spend more time with their families, and build more sustainable operations.

  • Spectacular people solving hard problems. Our culture is designed for talented people to do work that changes lives. The team is filled with diverse, kind, and driven people who push each other to do their best work. You'll be thrown into the deep end, tackling complex challenges and building something tangible that solves real problems.

  • You'll grow here. Autonomy, mastery, and learning define how we work. You'll have the freedom to work on interesting problems, master new skills, and continuously develop yourself, both through your role and our $1,000 personal growth fund.

  • This isn't easy, and we love that it's hard. Working at Halter will be the most rewarding and the most challenging work of your life. We move fast, take bold bets, and work hard to reshape an entire industry.
