Role Overview

PIMCO is seeking a Performance Data & Methodology Lead to play a key role in our middle‑office transformation. This position will serve as the business authority for performance data across the platform lifecycle—defining calculation methodologies, data standards, and quality expectations to ensure performance results are consistent, explainable, and audit‑ready as systems and processes evolve.

The role sits at the intersection of performance operations, accounting, data governance, and technology, partnering closely with internal stakeholders while maintaining clear accountability for performance data integrity and methodology governance firm‑wide.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and govern end‑to‑end performance data definitions and calculation methodologies across strategies and asset classes.

  • Establish and maintain source‑of‑truth rules and data standards for performance data throughout the platform lifecycle.

  • Serve as the senior business owner for performance calculation platforms, partnering with Technology and Data teams on roadmap priorities.

  • Define and enforce performance data quality standards, tolerance thresholds, and escalation frameworks.

  • Lead performance methodology alignment and data validation efforts across legacy and target‑state platforms during migrations.

  • Act as the primary escalation point for performance methodology and calculation questions from Portfolio Management, Risk, and Client Reporting.

  • Ensure methodologies align with U.S. GAAP, investment company accounting principles, and client reporting standards.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in performance operations, fund accounting, middle‑office accounting, or investment data management.

  • Deep knowledge of performance calculation methodologies across multi‑asset strategies.

  • Strong accounting foundation, including familiarity with U.S. GAAP and investment company accounting concepts.

  • Experience acting as a senior subject‑matter expert or business owner for performance or investment data platforms.

  • Demonstrated involvement in system implementations or platform migrations with a focus on data standards and methodology alignment.

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree and/or CPA (active or in progress) strongly preferred.
