Job Summary:

The Pharmacist Consultant is the clinical content and workflow lead or support for all pharmacy enablement engagements within Geisinger or across partner health systems. Responsible for business case development, implementation planning, referral and operational workflows and serves as the key clinical point of contact within Geisinger or for each partner health system.

Job Duties:

  • Leads or supports clinical aspects of channel pharmacy business case development for partner health systems, implementation planning, and on-going operational support
  • Provides clinical validation and support to data assumptions and analysis used to develop pharmacy business plans
  • Develops best practice policies and procedures where applicable, including but not limited to, clinical medication protocols for existing and new therapies
  • Assesses, recommends, and implements workflows, including standard documentation, informatics tools, and bi-directional communication between referring clinic staff and pharmacy teams
  • Develops recommended initial staffing model and hours of operation based upon economic volume indicators for clinics and discharges
  • Recommends, provides guidance, and supports the implementation of business operations and workflow
  • Effectively engages with Geisinger or all partner health system clinic stakeholders to inform business plan development process
  • 15% nation-wide travel may be required

Bachelor's Degree-Pharmacy (Required), Master's Degree-Business Administration/Management (Preferred)

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years-Related work experience (Required)

Licensed Pharmacist - Default Issuing Body
