What you'll do:
- Interpret and verify medication orders with precision and accuracy.
- Review prescriber medication orders for appropriate dosing, scheduling, contraindication, allergy, drug interaction, and/or incompatibility problems.
- Communicate effectively with Veterinarians, their staff, and Pet Parents as needed.
- Supervise and guide pharmacy technicians and interns. Provide ongoing training and mentor as needed.
- Maintain accurate records to follow federal and state legal requirements and pharmacy policies.
- Uphold operational standards, including performance metrics, safety, and compliance.
- Perform additional duties and assignments as advised by management.
- Use multiple computer tools and programs to process prescriptions.
- Respond to incoming phone calls from veterinarians, technicians, and pet parents to provide efficient care to all patients.
- Complete medication count audits
- Collaborate with a team of pharmacists and adapt to changing work assignments.
- Other duties as assigned
What you'll need:
- Bachelor's degree in pharmacy (RPh) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)
- Active pharmacist license in the state of Arizona with license in good standing and other states and credentials as needed.
- Ability to lift at least 25 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation and work in a variety of positions and locations such as sitting, standing, squatting, kneeling, reaching, and walking; for prolonged periods of time
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Strong customer services and attention to detail
- Flexibility to work various schedules, including evenings, holidays, and weekends.
