Lonestar Lighting & Technology is seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Photometric Specialist to support lighting design and project execution through the development of accurate photometric layouts and lighting calculations. This role plays a critical part in supporting quotations, project management, and sales teams by ensuring lighting solutions meet project specifications, energy requirements, and customer expectations. The Photometric Specialist will collaborate closely with internal teams and customers to deliver efficient, code-compliant, and visually effective lighting designs.

Responsibilities:
• Create photometric layouts and lighting calculations using industry software to support project proposals and specifications.
• Review project drawings, plans, and specifications to determine lighting requirements and performance criteria.
• Ensure lighting layouts meet energy codes, municipal requirements, and project performance standards.
• Collaborate with quotations, project management, and sales teams to support accurate project scope development.
• Recommend lighting products, fixture types, and layout strategies to optimize performance, cost, and constructability.
• Revise photometric layouts based on customer feedback, specification updates, or project revisions.
• Maintain organized documentation of layouts, calculations, and supporting design files.
• Assist in product substitutions and value engineering opportunities while maintaining lighting performance requirements.
• Communicate technical lighting information clearly to internal teams, customers, and manufacturers.
• Stay current on lighting technology advancements, energy code changes, and design best practices.
• Support project kickoff and design review meetings as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.

Requirements:
• Experience creating photometric layouts using lighting design software such as AGi32, Visual, or similar programs preferred.
• Understanding of lighting fixture performance, spacing, mounting heights, and illumination standards.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, reflected ceiling plans, and project specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience working within the electrical distribution or lighting industry preferred.
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in lighting design, engineering, architecture, or related field preferred but not required.
• Equivalent industry experience may be considered.

Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
• Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
