As a Senior Platform Engineer at Encora, your role is to lead efforts and ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of applications and platforms.

As a Senior Platform Engineer your role is to lead efforts and be responsible for both uplifting and maintaining our client’s evolving technology platforms, infrastructure, applications, and technology controls.

As a Senior Platform Engineer, the role will include both oversight for production operations of systems, as well as development/engineering of solutions to maximize system reliability & automation. You’ll work with a global team responsible for end-customer-facing, business-critical applications. You will partner with Infrastructure, SRE, and Development teams to identify issues and improve system reliability.

 

Your Responsibilities

  • Coaching and mentoring fellow team members
  • Handle deployments to AWS and Kubernetes platforms
  • Provide support for the AWS and Kubernetes platforms, focusing on the customer-facing applications the team supports
  • Manage mobile applications in the App and Play stores, including deployments
  • Automate deployment processes and develop and refine infrastructure as code
  • Work with a global team to ensure high availability and scalability within the platform
  • Collaborate with SREs to resolve platform-related issues
  • Use Splunk and similar tools to monitor and troubleshoot platform issues
  • Handle content delivery by utilizing contentful templates

 

Qualifications

  • Experience as a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) and/or Platform Engineer
  • Superb written and oral communication skills
  • Extensive experience with observability and monitoring, especially with OpenTelemetry, Splunk, AppDynamics, and Datadog
  • Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, and/or OpenShift
  • Background in DevOps practices – Exposure to how pipelines are setup and how to debug issues if any error occurs as part of deployment
  • Scripting experience with Python, Node.js, or TypeScript
  • Good debugging skills to dig deep and figure out the root cause of the problem in quick turnaround time
  • Experience with disaster recovery, business continuity planning, Linux, and shell scripting
  • Possess a “Can Do” attitude, with a view to moving the business forward
  • Demonstrated skill and passion for operational excellence and solution delivery
  • Experience in applying compliance requirements, industry best practices, and external knowledge

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Consulting experience
  • Deep background working in an Agile methodology
  • Knowledge of cloud-native application architecture design patterns
  • Proven ability to assist in leading small to medium-sized teams
  • ITIL Foundation certification
  • AWS, Azure, or GCP certifications
