THE OPPORTUNITY

Platforms Engineer will design, configure, and maintain the physical and virtual infrastructure hosting a Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization environment. This role designs complex, enterprise-scale server platforms to meet performance, security, scalability, reliability, and lifecycle compliance requirements with a federal healthcare environment.

HOW YOU’LL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Deploying and supporting enterprise Windows and Linux server systems in bare-metal and virtualized environments
  • Deploy, support and maintain GPU accelerator integrations, BIOS/UEFI configurations, firmware lifecycle management, and hardware compatibility for virtualization
  • Deploying and executing server automation, PXE provisioning, and hardware configuration using tools like Redfish, Ansible, and iDRAC/iLO/CIMC APIs
  • Designing, implementing and managing server management platforms, including Cisco Intersight, Dell OpenManage Enterprise, and HPE OneView
  • Supporting hyperconverged or disaggregated infrastructure deployments (e.g., Dell VxRail, VMware vSAN, Cisco HyperFlex)
  • Developing and deploying scripting (e.g., BASH, Python, PowerShell, Ansible, etc.) for server management and integration into CI/CD workflows

SKILLS THAT DRIVE SUCCESS

  • Expert knowledge of x86 server platforms (e.g., Dell PowerEdge, Cisco UCS, HPE ProLiant) and virtualization (e.g., VMware vSphere and Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization)
  • Experience deploying and supporting enterprise Windows and Linux server systems in bare-metal and virtualized environments
  • Expertise with GPU accelerator integration, BIOS/UEFI configuration, firmware lifecycle management, and hardware compatibility for virtualization
  • Strong understanding of server automation, PXE provisioning, and hardware configuration using tools like Redfish, Ansible, and iDRAC/iLO/CIMC APIs
  • Architect-level expertise with server management platforms, including Cisco Intersight, Dell OpenManage Enterprise, and HPE OneView
  • Proven ability to support hyperconverged or disaggregated infrastructure deployments (e.g., Dell VxRail, VMware vSAN, Cisco HyperFlex)
  • Proficiency in scripting (e.g., BASH, Python, PowerShell, Ansible, etc.) for server management and integration into CI/CD workflows
  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in server platform engineering
  • US citizen able to obtain VA Public Trust clearance

COMPENSATION AND BENEFIT INFORMATION

The salary range for this position is $140,000-155,000/yr. This range reflects the anticipated base pay for the position and is not a guarantee of final compensation. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, skills, education, location, contract requirements, and business needs.

Iron Bow Technologies reserves the right to fill this role at a different level, depending on qualifications and organizational priorities. This range represents only one component of Iron Bow’s total compensation package. An overview of our benefits is available on our careers page.
