GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

The Portfolio Manager II is responsible for the management of a loan portfolio including underwriting and presenting commercial and consumer loans for approval. This position monitors the portfolio to ensure it aligns with the client's financial goals and risk tolerance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Underwriting and presenting commercial and consumer loans for approval. 
2. Managing a loan portfolio including lines of credit, term loans and real estate loans.
3. Responsible for annual reviews, renewal and increase requests.
4. Ensure timely payment of loans in the portfolio.
5. Negotiating terms and conditions with existing borrowers.
6. Closing loans renewals/increases in accordance with approved terms and conditions.
7. Collaborates with portfolio managers on commercial and consumer loans as needed.
8. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
9. Completes required BSA/AML training and other compliance training as assigned.
10. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Broad knowledge of such fields as accounting, marketing, business administration, finance, etc. Equivalent to a four year college degree, plus 5 years related experience and/or training, and 5 years related management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and policy/procedure manuals; Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of known variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram formats.

SOFTWARE SKILLS REQUIRED

Intermediate: Spreadsheet, Word Processing/Typing
Basic: 10-Key, Accounting, Alphanumeric Data Entry

WORKING CONDITIONS

Normal working conditions as found within an office setting, wherein there is controlled temperature and a low noise level, plus a minimum of distractions.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

- College degree in general business, finance, economics or accounting, preferred
- Five (5) years lending experience
- Five (5) years’ experience with banking, investment, or economic analysis
- Two (2) years’ experience using Microsoft Word and Excel
- Must have general computer skills
- The ability to communicate using oral and written skills
