We’re a team of friends bound together by a mission to preserve our planet for future generations through innovative energy solutions and modern infrastructure. Intersect develops, constructs, and operates the most ambitious power and data center infrastructure in the country by co-locating industrial demand with dedicated gas and renewable power generation.

Intersect was acquired by Google in March 2026 and operates as an independent subsidiary. We are developing and constructing multiple gigawatts of energy and data center projects in the U.S., enabling more data center and generation capacity to come online faster. We’re on an aggressive growth trajectory and looking for people hungry to tackle the largest energy challenges on the planet.

Location & Team Gatherings

Intersect has been a fully flexible workplace since its founding in 2016.  We’ve been very intentional about the way we do things. We are not work-from-home, hybrid, or in-office - we are any and all of those options! Deepening social connections and offering shared experiences is a cornerstone of the way we work. We connect as a team at our Team Week experiences four times a year and at our recently established Hub locations - SF Bay Area, NYC Metro Area, NY; Denver, CO; Austin, TX; Calgary, AB; and Toronto, ON.

We are currently looking for candidates located within 60 miles of any of the listed hubs to foster more in-person connections while maintaining our flexible remote culture.

About This Role

As part of Intersect’s East Development team, you’ll help shape the future of energy across ERCOT by managing the budgets, schedules, and economics that drive successful projects. You’ll support the full development lifecycle for solar, storage, wind, and load projects, partnering with specialists across engineering, finance, origination, and real estate.

Your work will balance detail-driven execution with big-picture strategy, ensuring projects move forward on time, on budget, and with strong economic value.

Team Overview

The Development team turns ideas into reality by advancing clean projects from early-stage strategy through to the start of construction. We identify opportunities, secure land and transmission, navigate permitting, and structure the contracts that bring projects to life.

Our work spans multiple technologies and markets, requiring close collaboration with internal experts and external partners alike. Joining this team means contributing to the foundation of Intersect’s growth while building deep expertise in large-scale clean energy development.

What You’ll Do

Advance Project Development

  • Support the development of wind, solar, BESS, and load projects from strategy through construction start

  • Manage day-to-day project budgets, schedules, and development tools to keep projects on track

  • Prepare clear, actionable updates and materials for senior leadership and investment committees

Drive Financial Insight

  • Own project financial models and economic analysis to guide key transactions and decisions

  • Evaluate risks and opportunities across development activities, framing tradeoffs for stakeholders

  • Partner with Finance to ensure accuracy and transparency in economic reporting

Strengthen Partnerships

  • Support negotiations and relationships with utilities, land agents, and counsel

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, permitting, origination, finance, and external consultants

  • Help structure contracts and agreements that enable successful project execution

What You’ll Bring

  • A bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, energy management, or equivalent experience that has prepared you for energy project development

  • 3+ years of experience in the energy industry, ideally in development or energy markets

  • Strong financial modeling skills in Excel or other platforms, with the ability to simplify complex data

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills to manage relationships and priorities effectively

  • Familiarity with energy project development processes or power market dynamics

  • A growth mindset—curiosity to learn new technologies, openness to feedback, and drive to contribute to a fast-moving team

  • MBA or advanced degree is a plus
