Job Description:

We are a nationwide mortgage lender specializing in residential and commercial lending. Lower is looking for a creative, media-savvy PR & Content Specialist to help us tell compelling, data-backed stories that drive earned media and showcase our expertise in the mortgage and real estate space. This role blends content development, media relations, and strategic storytelling to elevate both the Lower and Movoto brands.

You’ll work across both companies to research, write, and pitch original content and story ideas, manage relationships with journalists, respond to media inquiries, and help secure thought leadership opportunities for our executive team. You’ll help shape content that’s timely, trustworthy, and ready to support media outreach and earned coverage.

If you're a strong long-form writer with experience in media outreach, and you’re excited about helping two growing brands stand out as trusted authorities in the market, we’d love to talk.

What you’ll do:

  • Research, write, and edit data-driven content that positions Lower and Movoto as leaders in the mortgage and real estate industries

  • Proactively pitch stories, data insights, and executive commentary to secure media coverage

  • Build and manage relationships with national and local journalists across the mortgage, housing, fintech, and real estate sectors

  • Manage inbound press inquiries and coordinate responses with relevant internal stakeholders

  • Source and secure thought leadership opportunities (e.g., contributed articles, expert panels, podcasts, Q&As) for company leaders

  • Provide mortgage and real estate insights for media interviews and serve as an in-house housing industry journalist when needed

  • Help improve our external editorial reviews and ensure they accurately reflect our current rates and product offerings.

  • Collaborate closely with SEO, content, and social media teams to amplify earned media content

Who you are:

  • 3+ years of experience in PR, content marketing, journalism, or editorial roles

  • Strong long-form writer with a journalistic eye for what makes a story newsworthy

  • Experience in pitching to and working with national and local media outlets

  • Able to identify compelling narratives, distill complex topics, and tell clear, credible stories

  • Excellent project management and communication skills

  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, collaborative environment

  • Bonus: Experience in mortgage, real estate, housing, or financial services

  • Bonus: Experience with video content development or repurposing editorial work into video formats

Why you’ll love working at Lower:

  • You’ll be surrounded by talented, dedicated people who believe in the company’s mission.

  • You’ll be able to shape the future of Lower’s user experience.

  • You’ll join a locally and nationally recognized best place to work that values promotion from within.

  • There is opportunity for professional growth and development.

Plus:

  • Competitive compensation plan

  • Extended benefit offerings including: Medical/dental/vision

  • Paid holidays

  • Paid time off

  • Parental leave

  • Life insurance

  • Short- and long-term disability

  • 401K with company match

  • Discount on home mortgage refinances or purchase
