Zayo is seeking a Premier Solution Engineering Senior Manager, a high-impact leadership role responsible for overseeing a team of experienced Senior and mid-level Premier Solutions Engineers. This team supports our Premier Sales organization and partners with Zayo’s most strategic customers to deliver complex, high-value technical solutions that drive business outcomes. The Premier Solution Engineering Senior Manager will provide strategic direction, technical coaching, and operational oversight, ensuring the team is aligned with company goals, customer needs, and industry best practices.

The ideal candidate is both a people leader and a technical mentor who understands how to develop talent, manage performance, and drive results in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

Responsibilities:

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Senior and mid-level Solutions Engineers aligned to our Premier sales segment.

  • Foster a high-performance culture through regular coaching, performance reviews, and career development planning.

  • Act as a strategic partner to Sales Leadership, aligning SE resources to support evolving business needs.

  • Champion best practices in solution engineering, customer engagement, and technical design reviews.

Operational & Technical Oversight

  • Oversee SE participation in the full sales lifecycle, from discovery to solution design and final presentation.

  • Ensure SEs deliver high-quality customer-specific solutions that incorporate Zayo’s full suite of products and services.

  • Partner with the Architecture, Product, and Operations teams to ensure solution feasibility and long-term scalability.

  • Support adherence to internal processes including documentation standards, opportunity tracking, and system hygiene.

Customer & Sales Alignment

  • Serve as a strategic escalation point for complex customer engagements and technical challenges.

  • Help prioritize SE focus across accounts and verticals based on opportunity impact, customer needs, and sales velocity.

  • Reinforce a customer-first mindset and high standard of professionalism in all sales engineering engagements.

Strategic Initiatives & Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Sales Enablement and Product to implement new tools, products, and processes across the SE org.

  • Collaborate with peers across regions and departments to share knowledge and ensure consistent delivery across teams.

  • Participate in talent planning, headcount forecasting, and capacity management across the SE function.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent business/military experience.

  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in technical sales engineering, including minimum of three (3) years of team leadership or people management.

  • Proven success leading and developing technical teams in the telecom or networking industry.

  • Deep understanding of networking technologies including optical, routing, switching, SDN, network security, and voice.

  • Familiarity with customer solution design tools and documentation standards (e.g., Visio, Lucidchart.)

  • Strong business acumen and the ability to translate technical value into customer outcomes.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to influence at all levels.

  • Results-oriented with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Industry certifications in networking or telecommunications (e.g., CCNP, MEF-CECP.)

  • Experience supporting enterprise and carrier customers across complex multi-site or international deployments.

  • Prior experience with Salesforce, CPQ systems, or sales lifecycle automation tools.

Estimated Base Salary Range: $98,700 - $148,050 USD/annually.

The base pay range shown is a guideline and reasonable estimate for this role. It takes into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions. Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted range based upon geographic location, work experience, skill level, certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Non- sales roles may be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive plan. Sales roles may be eligible to participate in a sales incentive plan.

Additionally, this position may be eligible for certain benefits, such as health insurance, life insurance, disability retirement plans, paid time off.
