Overview of the Position 

Students for Life of America is seeking a President’s Team Social Media Content Creator & Coordinator to serve as the primary content creator and digital engagement specialist supporting President, Kristan Hawkins. 

This individual will travel extensively alongside the President to capture content, produce daily social media deliverables, manage online communities, engage audiences, and execute the day-to-day content operation. The role focuses on creating and publishing compelling content while supporting meaningful engagement with supporters, students, influencers, media professionals, and followers. 

The Social Media Content Creator & Coordinator serves as the eyes, ears, and content engine behind the President’s social media channels - transforming daily activities, speeches, campus tours, media appearances, travel, and breaking news into engaging content that drives attention and interaction. 

Responsibilities  

Content Capture & Production 

  • Travel with President, Kristan Hawkins, to campus tours, speaking engagements, media appearances, national events, and organizational functions and facilitate Live stories for Instagram and Facebook. 

  • Capture high-quality content using mobile devices and lightweight production equipment. 

  • Film behind-the-scenes content, travel moments, event footage, audience interactions, and day-in-the-life content. 

  • Create platform-specific content for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, X. 

  • Convert speeches, interviews, podcasts, campus events, media appearances, and organizational initiatives into social media content. 

  • Create rapid-response content around breaking news and cultural conversations. 

  • Identify compelling moments that transform into engaging social content. 

Content Publishing 

  • Publish daily content across social media channels. 

  • Draft captions and supporting copy that align with content strategy. 

  • Manage publishing schedules established by the Brand & Social Media Strategist. 

  • Ensure content is properly formatted and optimized for each platform. 

  • Maintain publishing consistency and content quality standards. 

Community Management & Audience Engagement 

  • Monitor comments across social media channels. 

  • Respond to audience comments and encourage meaningful engagement. 

  • Manage inboxes and direct messages. 

  • Escalate high-priority messages, media requests, and leadership-related inquiries, when appropriate. 

  • Foster relationships with supporters, students, influencers, media personalities, and partner organizations. 

  • Maintain an active and positive online community presence. 

Conversation Monitoring 

  • Identify creators, influencers, journalists, activists, and public figures whom the President should engage with online. 

  • Surface audience questions, concerns, and recurring themes. 

  • Monitor conversations taking place within the pro-life movement and broader culture. 

  • Flag engagement opportunities to create reaction clips, commentary on.  

  • Identify user-generated content and community stories that may support future content initiatives. 

Content Collaboration 

  • Provide footage, content ideas, and audience insights to editors and video teams. 

  • Look for and select videos for the President to film reaction videos to regularly.  

  • Collaborate with the President’s Youtube Producer on content regularly and ensuring that the President’s Youtube show is advertised across social media platforms. 

  • Collaborate with the Social Media Manager to execute content plans. 

  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and campaign execution. 

  • Ensure content opportunities from events and travel are fully captured and utilized. 

  • Join weekly social media strategy calls and daily comms briefing calls. 

Success Metrics 
  • Consistent daily content production. 

  • Quality social media story takeovers on Instagram & Facebook. 

  • Engagement rates and audience interaction. 

  • Community response and relationship-building. 

  • Speed of content publication. 

  • Growth in comments, shares, saves, and audience participation. 

  • Successful capture and execution of content opportunities. 

Position Details 

Position Type 

  • This is a full-time salaried position working at least 40 hours per week. 

Physical Demands 

  • Must have the ability to operate technical equipment such as a computer and sit for extended periods of time.   

  • Must be able to withstand long periods of driving.   

  • Other physical demands may include: setting up displays, walking around campuses, standing during display times, walking outside for long periods of time (door to door canvassing) and participating in local and national pro-life marches. Must be able to lift 30 pounds. 

Travel 

  • Travel to bi-annual team trainings in January and July is required 

  • Constant travel alongside the President, which could often be weekly, but at minimum, multiple times a month. 

Work Authorization 

  • Must be able to successfully complete an I-9.  The I-9 is used for verifying the identity and employment authorization of individuals hired for employment in the United States.

Qualifications

Education & Experience 

  • Bachelor's degree in Digital Media, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Film, Photography, or a related field preferred. Equivalent experience may be substituted. 

  • One to three years of experience creating content for social media platforms, influencers, organizations, public figures, or brands. 

  • Demonstrated experience producing high-performing short-form content for platforms such as Instagram Reels, TikTok, Facebook Reels, YouTube Shorts, and X. 

  • Experience managing social media accounts and engaging in online communities. 

  • Proficiency with mobile content creation tools and social media publishing platforms. 

  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively. 

  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel independently. 

Knowledge & Skills 
  • Strong understanding of social media trends, internet culture, memes, and platform behavior. 

  • Ability to quickly capture, edit, publish, and optimize content. 

  • Understanding audience engagement and community building. 

  • Experience writing captions, social copy, and platform-specific content. 

  • Strong photography and videography instincts using mobile devices and lightweight equipment. 

  • Ability to work independently while traveling and covering events. 

  • Capable of managing multiple priorities in fast-paced environments. 

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
