PRINCIPLE APPLICATIONS ENGINEER

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Principal Applications Engineer is a key contributor to both product development and customer support. This role requires a strong customer-first focus, with responsibility for developing hardware and software tools that simplify product adoption, improve ease of use, and enhance the overall customer experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support design-win (DWIN) efforts for new products by developing application solutions.
  • Develop demos and present at trade shows to expand customer engagement and strengthen industry networks.
  • Support the Electrical Engineering Forum by providing solutions to complex customer application challenges.
  • Create user guides, test procedures, and evaluation boards (EVBs) to support new product launches.
  • Develop application notes that clearly communicate product value propositions and ease customer adoption.
  • Perform competitor analysis and bench testing to compare product performance and positioning.
  • Build a strong understanding of customer needs across consumer, industrial, and automotive markets to deliver effective application solutions.
  • Develop application notes and reference designs to support future design-win opportunities.

SKILLS /COMPETENCIES

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Solid technical background with deep understanding of analog ICs and the challenges customers may encounter when designing them into applications.
  • Strong customer-facing communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent presentation and technical writing skills
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills.
  • Proven analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
  • Proficiency in debugging, validating, and demonstrating solutions using standard lab equipment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a global and cross-functional environment.
  • Familiarity with Altium Designer and Oxygen, preferred
  • Flexible to travel 15% of the time
