A Day in the Life:
- Serve as a subject matter expert in AWS, architecting scalable and secure cloud solutions that support enterprise application development.
- Translate Enterprise Architecture guidance, security policies, and compliance requirements into standardized cloud architecture patterns and deployable infrastructure templates.
- Design and develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform and Terraform Enterprise, creating reusable modules that development teams can leverage to deploy applications consistently.
- Partner with Enterprise Architecture and Security teams to analyze existing application development solutions and define best practices for cloud platform adoption.
- Evaluate existing workloads and deployment models to identify common patterns that can be standardized and templatized for broader platform use.
- Develop prescriptive architecture templates and deployment frameworks that simplify infrastructure provisioning and enable no-code or low-code implementation patterns.
- Participate in hands-on development of cloud platform components and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure solutions meet functional and operational requirements.
- Act as a technical bridge between governance teams and development teams, translating architectural standards into practical solutions developers can implement.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to support CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and cloud platform improvements.
- Contribute to architecture reviews, documentation, and continuous improvement of enterprise cloud standards.
What it takes:
- Deep expertise in AWS architecture, including VPC, IAM, multi-region and multi-AZ deployments, storage, compute, and container-based solutions.
- Experience designing and implementing Infrastructure as Code solutions, specifically using Terraform and Terraform Enterprise.
- Familiarity with Azure cloud services to support future multi-cloud initiatives.
- Strong consultative and problem-solving skills with the ability to align cloud architecture with long-term business objectives.
- Experience collaborating with Enterprise Architecture, Security, DevOps, and application development teams to deliver compliant and scalable cloud solutions.
- Ability to translate complex governance, policy, and compliance requirements into practical technical solutions.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills when working across multiple technical teams and stakeholders.
- Full understanding of the software development life cycle and cloud platform delivery models.
- Ability to lead technical discussions, mentor engineers, and influence architectural best practices.
- Desire to work in a collaborative team environment within a fast-paced, high-growth organization.
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development in cloud architecture and emerging technologies.
