The Principal Business Intelligence Analyst will lead the development of innovative, market leading analytics tools designed to assist our customers model and simulate complex scenarios. This role realizes the high-level business strategy with technical execution, overseeing the full lifecycle of BI solutions from initial requirements to successful production deployment. This role is for a proactive-problem solver who thrives in diving into deep technical components while seeing the larger roadmap. You should have a passion for innovation as a service, where looking for ways to use data to provide a competitive advantage to the end customer is key. This role should be ready to tackle complex issues where analysis of the situation or data requires an in-depth evaluation, to exercise judgement on methods and techniques to evaluate criteria and obtain results. 

Responsibilities

How you will contribute:

  • Develop and contribute to market-leading tools that enable customers

  • Focus on curating measurable value for clients by accelerating time to market through advanced data simulation and internally through operational efficiencies and reclaiming capacity. 

  • Define long-term solution strategy and roadmaps

  • Translate business needs into detailed functional and non-functional requirements

  • Maintain and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring alignment between business goals and technical feasibility. 

  • Lead sprint review meetings and facilitate clear communication between stakeholders and the technical team. 

  • Provide direct guidance to developers and testers through development lifecycle.

    • Establish and review comprehensive test strategies, covering both internal code quality and User Acceptance testing (UAT). 

  • Oversee the release management and deployment of robust BI Solutions. 

  • Review reported bugs and prioritize fixes based on business impact. 

  • Participate in internal and external audits to ensure compliance and data integrity. 

  • Produce and maintain high-quality project documentation, including technical specification, user guides and architecture diagrams.

  • Network with key stakeholders and business representatives outside of the team. 

  • Ensure all solutions meet organization standards for data governance and security. 

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree preferred in a STEM or Business Tech related field

  • Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in Business Intelligence analytics, data and/or automation. 

  • 2+ years of business facing experience

  • BI Platform Experience: Minimum 8 years of direct experience with at least one of the following: Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate – or related software 

  • Proven track record of guiding technical teams in developing rich, dynamic and interactive business intelligence solutions. 

  • Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams and translate requirements between business, project management and technical projects.

  • Exceptional verbal presentation skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders/audiences. 

  • Ability to convert abstract business requirements into prioritized technical roadmaps. 

  • Proficiency supporting various data integration and formats such as Oracle, Salesforce and cloud platforms. 

 

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Knowledge of government regulations like GxP SEQ, GDPR, and 21 CFR Part 11 or EU GMP Annex 11. 

  • Agile/Scrum with experience with Jira

  • Certification in any of the following: Microsoft Azure, Fabric, Power Platform Products 

  • Development in AI, machine learning or advanced analytics is preferred to help drive innovation
