Dragos is on a relentless mission to defend industrial organizations that provide us with the necessities of modern civilization; running water, functioning electricity, and safe industrial working environments. As the market leader in ICS/OT Cybersecurity, we are dedicated to arming our customers with best-in-class technology, threat intelligence, and services to protect their systems as effectively and efficiently as possible. We’re a remote-first culture with operations in North America, Europe, the Middle East, and APAC. We’re looking for mission-oriented teammates who embody our core values of authenticity, transparency, and trust. Are you ready to make a difference? Come join a mission that can save the world!

About the Role:

You will be joining the Data Engineering Community that specializes in data pipeline design within a matrix style organization. This community serves as the connective tissue for aligning data strategy across diverse product-focused initiatives.
You will serve as the Technical Lead for Vulnerability Management workflows, leading a cross-functional product team with your Product Manager partner to set technical strategy, drive architectural decisions, and ensure the team ships iteratively and reliably.
As a Technical Lead, you will stay close to the work—remaining hands-on through coding, reviews, and pairing—so that your technical judgment reflects real implementation details, and your guidance helps the team make sound, intentional design choices early.

Responsibilities
:

As a Principal Data Engineer within the Data Engineering Community, you will:

  • Lead cross-functional efforts to modernize and improve core data systems.
  • Align priorities and sequencing with leadership and product teams.
  • Set technical direction and ensure clear designs before implementation.
  • Define and maintain sustainable data contracts used across teams.
  • Build scalable, secure data pipelines across cloud and on-prem environments.
  • Deliver real-time data processing capabilities through iterative, production-safe changes.
  • Support customer-facing features by collaborating directly with product engineering teams.
  • Develop shared tooling for observability, lineage, and configuration validation.
  • Stay hands-on through coding and reviews to keep decisions grounded.
  • Identify risks early, prevent technical issues from escalating, and maintain delivery stability.
  • Communicate clearly in architecture discussions and design reviews.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of data engineering experience.
  • Architecture expertise creating scalable systems, designing efficient data storage and processing systems.
  • Expertise in data modeling including incremental models, dimensional models, network topologies and graph structures.
  • Cross-functional communication skills.
  • Skilled in implementing data observability frameworks, designing robust data contracts, and optimizing data structures for performance and scalability.
  • Software development skills in Rust, Go, JVM-family, Python, and/or Node.js.
  • Experience with medium-to-large scale datasets, particularly cybersecurity or industrial data.
  • Knowledge of integrating cloud and on-prem technologies with Kubernetes and Docker.
  • Experience with message queues and deployable stream processing infrastructure.
  • Domain familiarity with cybersecurity threat detection, threat intelligence, or ICS/OT operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive technical direction through clear, well-reasoned architectural decisions.
  • Hands on engineering experience that grounds decisions in practical implementation details.
  • Experience breaking down complex efforts into iterative, production safe deliverables and identifying risks early in the process.

Compensation:

  • Salary: $225,000
  • Competitive Equity Package
  • Comprehensive Benefits Plan
