About the Role
At Seek, we’re building the first-ever marketplace for data apps—where providers and consumers connect to drive real business impact fast. Insight Cloud isn’t just another BI tool; it’s a platform built from the ground up for the secure exchange of complete, production-ready data applications.

We're looking for a Principal DevOps Engineer who will serve as a strategic leader for cloud infrastructure and operations, setting the vision for how our analytics app ecosystem scales, performs, and evolves. You’ll establish standards for automation, observability, and reliability across the organization, guide critical architectural decisions, and mentor DevOps engineers at all levels. Your expertise will shape Seek’s infrastructure strategy, ensuring our customers and partners experience seamless, secure, and performant analytics apps at a global scale.

In this role you'll get to:
  • Set and drive the long-term vision for Seek’s infrastructure, CI/CD, and operational practices, ensuring alignment with business and product strategies.

  • Lead the design and scaling of cloud-native architectures across Linux, AWS, and Cloudflare.

  • Define and enforce infrastructure as code standards using Terraform and GitLab CI/CD, ensuring consistency and resilience.

  • Architect advanced container orchestration with Docker and Kubernetes, enabling multi-tenant scaling and secure deployments.

  • Guide database strategy for SQL and Snowflake, driving performance, reliability, and cost optimization.

  • Lead the adoption of workflow orchestration platforms (Prefect) to manage critical data and compute pipelines.

  • Champion observability across the platform with Grafana and related tooling, ensuring proactive monitoring and high availability.

  • Establish incident management frameworks, driving blameless postmortems and systemic improvements.

  • Partner with executives, product leadership, and cross-functional teams to balance innovation with operational excellence.

  • Mentor and develop DevOps and engineering talent across the organization, fostering a culture of reliability and continuous learning.

  • Represent Seek in industry forums and technical communities, contributing to thought leadership in DevOps and cloud engineering.

We're excited about you because you have:
  • 9+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or cloud infrastructure leadership roles.

  • Proven experience setting infrastructure strategy and guiding organizations through scaling challenges.

  • Expert-level knowledge of Linux, AWS, and Cloudflare for large-scale, distributed environments.

  • Deep expertise in containerization and orchestration with Docker and Kubernetes.

  • Mastery of CI/CD pipelines (GitLab preferred) and infrastructure automation using Terraform.

  • Advanced knowledge of SQL and Snowflake operations, performance tuning, and security.

  • Strong programming skills in Python for automation, tooling, and system integration.

  • Extensive experience building observability platforms with Grafana and related tools.

  • Demonstrated success leading incident response, reliability engineering, and SLA/SLO practices.

  • Track record of mentoring engineers, influencing technical direction, and collaborating at executive levels.

Bonus points if you have:
  • Thought leadership in cloud infrastructure and DevOps (open source contributions, conference speaking, publications).

  • Deep expertise in infrastructure security, compliance, and regulatory frameworks.

  • Experience managing multi-cloud or hybrid-cloud strategies.

  • Proven success leading remote-first engineering organizations through rapid scaling.

Salary:

  • The annual salary range for this position is between $150,000 - $175,000, depending on experience and qualifications.

Benefits:

  • Medical Insurance, Dental Insurance,  PTO, 16 annual company holidays, 401K, Vision Insurance

Location

  • This is an entirely remote position for candidates based in the US.
