The Opportunity:

Hamilton Lane is seeking a Principal, Client Solutions, Private Wealth to drive growth of our private markets business across an assigned region. In this role, you will originate and win new mandates, deepen relationships with existing private wealth clients, and serve as a senior representative of Hamilton Lane in the wealth and intermediary market.

Your responsibilities will be to:

  • Develop and deepen relationships across private wealth channels, including private banks, bank intermediaries, external asset managers, wealth platforms and family offices in the region.
  • Lead and manage the full private wealth sales cycle, from prospect identification and platform onboarding through ongoing distribution, coverage of relationship managers and continued portfolio development.
  • Maintain a high level of sales activity with wealth partners, including meetings and calls with relationship managers, product and investment committees, platform due diligence teams and senior management.
  • Act as a senior point of contact for private wealth partners, providing a consultative, solutions-oriented dialogue on Hamilton Lane’s private markets offerings and their role in end client portfolios.
  • Maintain and actively manage sales activities and pipeline in CRM, ensuring accurate documentation of platform status, distribution opportunities, RM coverage and next steps.
  • Coordinate internal and external meetings and events (e.g., platform due diligence meetings, product committee presentations, roadshows, client seminars and RM training sessions), including agenda setting, preparation of materials and follow up.
  • Contribute to and utilize standard marketing and sales materials for private wealth, including presentations, product factsheets and training content tailored to wealth partners and end clients.
  • Lead or oversee responses to platform due diligence, RFPs, RFIs and questionnaires from private banks and wealth platforms, working closely with central support teams to ensure high quality, timely submissions.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders across the firm (investment, product, client services, operations, tax, legal, compliance and others) to support platform onboarding, product launches and ongoing servicing for wealth partners.
  • Serve as a strategic communicator of Hamilton Lane’s private markets wealth solutions, explaining how strategies fit within model portfolios, advisory frameworks and regulatory requirements in the private wealth context.
  • Represent Hamilton Lane at wealth focused conferences, client events and seminars, maintaining a strong professional presence and brand with distribution partners and their end clients.
  • Participate as a senior member of the regional Private Wealth / Client Solutions team, contributing market insights, helping to refine the regional private wealth strategy and supporting broader sales initiatives.

Your background will include:

Must-haves:

  • University degree (B.A., B.S., B.B.A. or equivalent) in finance, economics, business or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in financial services with significant private wealth and/or intermediary distribution responsibilities (e.g., private banking, wealth management, bank intermediary or platform distribution, wholesale sales).
  • Demonstrated track record of originating, developing and closing business with private banks, wealth platforms, external asset managers and/or family offices.
  • Strong understanding of private markets and their use within high net worth and ultra high net worth portfolios, discretionary mandates and advisory platforms.
  • Proven ability to communicate complex private markets concepts in a clear, structured way to relationship managers, product teams and end clients (directly or through partners).
  • Highly organized, structured and deadline focused, with the ability to manage multiple platform processes, product launches and sales initiatives in a fast paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and consultative sales approach, with the ability to build trust based relationships with relationship managers, gatekeepers and investment decision makers.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and a demonstrated ability to learn and use proprietary systems, tools and software.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly within the region and to other Hamilton Lane offices, as required, for client and platform coverage.
  • Flexibility to work across time zones, including outside standard business hours, to coordinate with global colleagues and support regional and global wealth partners.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain any required regulatory licenses for the markets and wealth channels covered.

Nice-to-haves:

  • Advanced degree (e.g., MBA) and/or professional designations such as CFA or CAIA, or other relevant wealth or investment certifications.
  • Business fluency in relevant local language(s) in addition to English, as required for effective coverage of regional private wealth partners.
  • Deep network and existing relationships with private banks, securities firms, wealth platforms, external asset managers and family offices in the region.
