The Principal Software Engineer will build systems for safe software deployment, enhance developer frameworks, and ensure reliability in code delivery.
The summary above was generated by AI

We're an early-stage company building innovative software solutions with a commitment to shipping rock-solid, reliable, safe software. We’re searching for someone who loves to ensure that software does exactly what it’s supposed to do every time – and when it doesn’t, we know immediately.

You love ensuring properties of distributed systems are satisfied in simple ways that enable developers to ship relentlessly with high confidence that code will not impact customers in unexpected ways. Fundamentally, safeguards don't just protect - they empower speed by creating confidence to move faster.

Responsibilities

  • Build systems that enable graduated availability of new code and content - build dev, test, pre-prod, and prod systems that gradually make new code or content available to wider sets of environments to increase safety, decrease risk, and increase predictability

  • Build systems that enable reproducibility of outcomes - examples of this include automated methods to learn when operating system vendors or cloud service providers change - potentially impacting the runtime activity we observe

  • Build simple, easy to use frameworks that enable developers to quickly write new unit and integration tests for new capabilities that enable the graduated availability system and reproducibility system

  • Build systems that enable content developers to quickly write and deploy content using the graduated availability system and reproducibility system

Top candidates for this role will have:

  • Experience designing and shipping commercially available software products at scale that customers love

  • Experience building and shipping self-service B2B SaaS products at scale

  • Expert knowledge of at least one major systems programming language

  • Ability to learn Typescript or Rust

  • Experience shipping serverless software on AWS or distributed systems experience

  • Experience working at a fast-growing startup

  • Be comfortable working remotely, asynchronously, and independently

  • Strong time management habits and the ability to have a quiet working environment

  • Fluency in technology such as GitHub, AWS, GCP, Azure, Auth0, TypeScript, Angular, PrimeNG, Rust, GitHub Copilot and Claude

  • At least 12 years of experience

  • Ability to thrive in a fully remote organization

Additional notes

  • As a remote first company, we are looking to hire anywhere in the United States.

  • We hire people authorized to work in the United States. We do not sponsor immigration visas.

  • Ability to travel for in-person company planning and events.
