Location Details: 

At GoDaddy the future of work looks different for each team. Some teams work in the office full-time, others have a hybrid arrangement (they work remotely some days and in the office some days) and some work entirely remotely.

This is a remote position, so you’ll be working remotely from your home. You may occasionally visit a GoDaddy office to meet with your team for events or meetings.  

This position is not eligible to be performed in Alaska, Mississippi, North Dakota, or the Virgin Islands.

GoDaddy is not currently considering candidates for this role in California, Seattle, or NYC.

The Information Security Software Engineering (ISE) Group is responsible for developing and maintaining advanced software solutions that safeguard GoDaddy's ecosystem, leveraging AI and machine learning to stay ahead of evolving threats. We're looking for a Principal Software Engineer who shares our vision of empowering businesses to thrive online with the assurance of cutting-edge security.

What you'll get to do...

  • Join a team where you'll own critical security infrastructure from conception to production.
  • Architect and build AI-enhanced microservices that defend against the full spectrum of security threats at global scale—from sophisticated malware, DDoS attacks, and emerging cyber threats.
  • Work with AWS cloud technologies and modern development practices to create intelligent detection and response systems that protect millions of customers.
  • This role offers true end-to-end ownership—from system architecture through deployment and monitoring—while collaborating with some of the industry's brightest security and engineering minds.

Your experience should include...

  • 8+ years of working experience in large scale system architecting, design, development, testing, and release, including but not limited to, microservices in layers, database design, API design, performance tuning, telemetry design and analysis.
  • 3+ years of professional experience with Cloud Computing Platforms, such as AWS.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, GoLang, or Java.
  • Familiarity with application performance monitoring tools such as ElasticAPM.
  • Demonstrated experience of leading big initiatives spanning multiple teams and organizations and leveraging deep domain expertise to influence product roadmap.
  • A strong understanding of security principles and best practices.
  • Experience leading a project teams of engineers in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

The estimated pay ranges for this role are listed below. In addition to base pay, this role may be eligible for other forms of compensation, which may include a corporate bonus and/or equity awards, subject to the terms of applicable plans and individual eligibility.
