The Impact You Will Make

This role is suited for a highly technical leader with deep expertise in designing scalable, secure software solutions, significant hands-on coding experience, and a strong command of software design principles and architectural patterns.

You will work closely with business stakeholders, developers, and cross-functional teams to create and implement solutions using Salesforce, .NET services, Azure, AWS and other cloud technologies. You will lead solution design efforts, ensuring adherence to best practices, and be available to help with operational tasks and troubleshooting when necessary. Your ability to blend architectural strategy with hands-on coding expertise will be key to delivering successful outcomes.

How You Will Bring Our Mission to Life

What You Will Do

  • Own end-to-end architecture for Salesforce-centric solutions that support student engagement across complex, multi-system environments.
  • Design scalable, secure and maintainable architectures aligned with business goals and long-term platform strategy.
  • Serve as the architectural authority for Salesforce implementations, integrations and supporting cloud services.
  • Lead the design and integration of Salesforce-based applications ensuring effective use of Apex, Lightning, platform events, flows and the Salesforce security model.
  • Define and implement Salesforce-centric integration patterns using REST APIs, event-driven messaging, and Azure services such as APIM and Azure Services Bus.
  • Architect and oversee supporting cloud-native and containerized services using Azure, Kubernetes, and Docker to extend Salesforce capabilities.
  • Own Salesforce-aligned data architecture, including object modeling, canonical data definitions, synchronization strategies, and data quality standards.
  • Oversee data migrations, batch and real-time data jobs, and data remediation using tools such as TIBCO TCI or similar platforms.
  • Design and enforce Salesforce-focused security architecture, including access control, OAuth flows, API security, encryption, and compliance controls.
  • Contribute hands-on development for complex or high-impact initiatives and support troubleshooting of production issues.
  • Partner closely with business stakeholders to translate requirements into practical, well-architected technical solutions.
  • Mentor engineers and technical leads, promoting best practices in architecture, coding, and system design.
  • Continuously improve development, deployment, and operational processes.

What Success Looks Like

  • Salesforce solutions are stable, scalable, and aligned with long-term business and platform strategy.
  • Integration patterns are standardized, well-documented, and reliably support data and event flows across systems.
  • Architectural decisions balance speed of delivery with maintainability, security, and operational resilience.
  • Development teams follow consistent architectural and coding standards, with reduced rework and technical debt.
  • Production issues are resolved efficiently with clear root-cause analysis and preventative improvements.

How Impact Will be Measured

  • Successful delivery of Salesforce-centric architectures supporting key student engagement initiatives.
  • Improved system reliability, performance, and scalability across Salesforce and integrated platforms.
  • Reduction in integration failures, data inconsistencies, and recurring production incidents
  • Clear architectural documentation, standards, and decision records adopted by engineering teams.
  • Positive feedback from business and engineering stakeholders on solution quality and clarity.

What You’ll Bring to the Team

Experience That Matters Most

  • 10+ years of hands-on software development experience, with proven experience as a Solutions Architect.
  • Deep expertise in Salesforce development and platform architecture (Apex, Visualforce, Lightning).
  • Strong experience designing and integrating .NET-based services.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS, including APIM, Azure Service Bus, Kubernetes, and Docker.
  • Strong command of software design principles, architectural patterns, and system-level tradeoffs.
  • Experience designing and executing data migration and integration strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to own architecture from design through production.

Experience That’s Great to Have

  • Experience designing event-driven and asynchronous integration architectures.
  • Strong understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and production readiness.
  • Experience working in agile, iterative delivery environments.
  • Prior experience mentoring engineers or serving as a technical lead.
