Credence has an immediate need for a Principal Solution Architect to support our Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) programs. Credence is a T4NG2 winner and is building a new vertical to support VA.  The Principal Solution Architect position will evaluate new and existing environments to analyze the most suitable technologies available and determine the best products to develop, providing optimal solutions for solving VA IT challenges.  The successful candidate in this role will help build a bridge between functional business requirements and technical solutions, guiding and monitoring solutions from program/project inception through to go-live or operational status. 

Salary Range: $180,000.00 to $220,000.00


Requirements

This role is client-facing and responsible for providing guidance for full lifecycle IT program deliverables and support. Key responsibilities include:

  • Creating design and roadmaps for proposed solutions and technical analysis of existing and proposed infrastructure and technologies to determine ways to improve them.
  • Developing a technical vision for solutions by designing, describing, developing, and managing new or improved solutions.
  • Providing recommendations and roadmaps for proposed solutions.
  • Designing, debugging, and performing solution analysis.
  • Document capture, information dissemination, cross-functional communication, change management, and best practices.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Advocating for process improvements.
  • Communicating new features and benefits to partners, customers, and other stakeholders.
  • Providing end-to-end technical leadership to a team throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Developing proof-of-concept projects to validate proposed solutions.
  • Reviewing and validating solution design.
  • Documenting and monitoring requirements for proposed solutions.

This role also requires:

  • Collaborating with IT and business stakeholders and leadership to ensure hardware/software availability and functionality.
  • Identifying and communicating potential solution/project challenges.
  • Providing specifications for proposed solutions.
  • Maintaining knowledge of current project status and implemented technology.
  • Citizenship: Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a successful Federal Background Investigation.
  • Communication Skills: Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience/Education: A minimum of ten (10) years of related experience is required, or a Master's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering is preferred.
  • Leadership Skills: Project and Program Management and leadership skills are required.
  • Federal Resources Awareness: Awareness of Federal Government resources for guiding solution architecture is necessary.

Technical Skills:

  • Deep experience in DevSecOps principles, practices, and culture.
  • Experience with Master Application Inventory and documenting application interdependencies.
  • Experience documenting an organization’s Informational Needs.
  • Knowledge of IT Asset Management (ITAM).
  • Experience with Infrastructure or Technology Architecture.
  • Knowledge of Network Engineering.
  • Knowledge of secure Cloud services, including AWS and Azure.

  • Service models (IaaS and PaaS)
  • Cybersecurity concepts in the Federal Government

Experience Requirements:

  • DevSecOps, SaaS & PaaS, Data Analytics, Cloud Services, Artificial Intelligence (AI), API Development and Architecture, National Security Operations Center (NSOC), Application Development
  • Machine Learning (ML), Agile, SDLC, Healthcare Informatics, Software Development/Engineering, Low/No-Code platforms, Robotic Process Automation (RPA)

Additional Requirements:

  • Understanding of ITIL, Agile, Service-Oriented Architecture, Component-Based Development, Lean Six Sigma Process Improvement, DevOps, Automated Testing and Deployment, Microservices, and Containerization.
  • Experience in designing large and complex solutions, preferably in cloud and/or container environments.
  • Advanced understanding of business analysis techniques and processes.

Certifications for one or more of the following:

  • PMP, Agile, ITSM,ITIL

Soft Skills:

  • Critical thinking
  • Ability to look at problems from different angles

Federal Agency Experience: Federal agency experience is required.
