Principal Technical Consultant, Platform Engineering
Serving as a technical thought leader and SME for our ecosystem of partners, customers, and service providers in the realm of Modern Apps & Platform Engineering, in addition to serving as a leader of other teammates. The Principal Technical Consultant works as part of the consulting team to lead the development, design, implementation, and engagement leader of client solutions. Principal Technical Consultants manage, mentor and delegate to engineers on a project basis, manage and maintain career advancement plans for the team, and within the broader organization as it relates to internal initiatives and indirect project support. This role requires a strategic mindset, strong leadership abilities, and deep technical proficiency across various domains.
Responsibilities
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, at the highest quality standards while exceeding client expectations.
- Design and implement complex, mission-critical transformational enterprise grade technical solutions for clients.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, drive business growth, and identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling
- Develop high quality deliverables and presentations for Client engineering teams and senior leaders, this can include both technical documentation and non-technical documentation.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their technical challenges and develop tailored solutions to address their needs
- Create and present solution designs, options, ideas, and innovations to clients’ senior leadership teams.
- Develop and maintainTechnical Roadmaps and Innovation Plans.
- Develop and implement CI\CD solutions.
- Establish project estimates and plans, identify risks and mitigations, oversee development and delivery of technical solutions.
- Provide mentorship, coaching, and professional development opportunities to team members, empowering them to grow and excel in their roles.
- Actively lead collaboration within our technical communities
Qualifications
- Experience and ability to “jump on a whiteboard” in front of a customer to develop a solution to a business / technology goal or challenge.
- Strong consulting and business acumen
- 10+ years of IT experience and 5+ years of Cloud, DevOps, Automation, Application Modernization, Digital Transformation experience.
- Multiple certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect Pro, AWS DevOps Engineer Pro, Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, Terraform Associate, Etc.
- Hands-on experience designing and implementing Platform core services around Compute, Storage, Networking, Databases, Containers, Security, Identity, etc.
- Experience with organizational adoption of transformational initiatives – Platform Engineering, DevOps, DevSecOps, Cloud Transformation, Application Modernization
- Hands-on experience with IaC tools such as Terraform, Ansible, ARM, CloudFormation
- Experience with using and managing deployment services such as Harness, GitHub, Ansible, Jenkins, etc. Knowledge and usage of branching strategies is required.
- Hands-on experience in programming with Java, Python or any development language.
- Excellent written & verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of modern cloud-native application design principles, DevSecOps, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI\CD Pipelines,
- Knowledge of enterprise organizations across multiple industries and inner IT functions (e.g. Enterprise Architecture, Operations)
The compensation range indicated in this posting reflects the On-Target Earnings (“OTE”) for this role, which includes a base salary and any applicable target bonus amount. This OTE range may vary based on the candidate’s relevant experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
