Position Summary:  

Cerity Partners OCIO is seeking a full-time Associate to join the group’s Private Capital team.  The Associate reports directly to the Portfolio Managers and will play a critical role in managing and investing client portfolios across asset classes, with a primary focus and responsibility for the Private Capital component of clients’ portfolios. This opportunity provides great exposure to the private equity manager universe and a fast-paced office environment.  This will be a hybrid role working at least three days a week in the office with the option for remote work up to two days a week.

Primary Responsibilities 

  • Proactively assist senior staff with the investment function:  sourcing managers, direct co-investments, executing due diligence processes on new investments, developing and maintaining models and spreadsheets, and assisting with general portfolio management responsibilities. 

  • Assist in managing existing investments and generating analysis on client portfolios.

  • Conduct specialized research on industry trends and specific investment strategies.

  • Create/update models to help track various internal data including – investment pipelines, client returns, client cash flows, and risk information.

  • Attend annual meetings and conferences and develop a network of outside investment professionals to help the Cerity Partners team with due diligence and industry intelligence.

  • Support business development activities of the Firm.

  • Assume ownership of various ad-hoc projects.

Required Qualifications: 

  • Undergraduate or Graduate business degree with a strong academic track record.

  • 1-3 years of work experience in financial services; asset management experience a plus.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • CFA designation, or progress towards CFA credentials, is strongly preferred.

Skills and Competencies: 

  • Understanding of capital markets, investment theory and practice, and the investment management industry.

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.

  • Strong knowledge of MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

  • Positive outlook, attention to detail, and strong work ethic.

  • Comfortable with global business travel.

Compensation Range:

$85,000-105,000
