JOB DESCRIPTION

Do you thrive on adrenaline of real, unscripted live TV? FOX 7 Austin is seeking a high-energy, quick-thinking Morning Show Producer to steer our fast-paced, one-hour late morning live broadcast!

No teleprompter scripts here—this show relies on organic conversation, real-time breaking news, live field reporters, and dynamic guest interviews. We need a master air-traffic controller in the control room who can keep the talent moving, weave together multiple live feeds on the fly, and craft an hour that feels completely fresh, authentic, and unmistakably Austin.

  • Drive Live Unscripted TV: Line produce a daily, fast-paced one-hour unscripted show—seamlessly orchestrating live feeds, field reporters, and guest segments in real time.
  • Control Room Command: Talk in the anchors' and reporters' ears to guide conversations, manage segment timings, hit commercial breaks, and direct talent without relying on a pre-written script.
  • Curate & Book Content: Source top local trends, pitch hot topics, and book engaging guests (from local newsmakers and artists to Austin cultural icons).
  • Adapt on the Fly: React instantly to breaking news, switching live field feeds and re-ordering segment priorities on the spot.
  • Cross-Platform Delivery: Work with our digital team to push top unscripted interview moments, live streams, and show highlights directly to FOX7Austin.com and social channels.

What You Bring

  • 2+ years of line producing or live show experience in TV, talk radio, or live digital broadcasting.
  • Mastery in the Booth: Exceptional ear-in-ear communication, control room leadership, and flawless timing skills under high-pressure, unscripted conditions.
  • Sharp Guest & Story Instincts: A deep pulse on Austin culture, news, and community dynamics to keep topics relevant and engaging.
  • Technical familiarity with ENPS, live field feeds (LiveU/Dejero), and digital news tools.

We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, gender identity, disability, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law. We will consider for employment qualified applicants with criminal histories consistent with applicable law.

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $26.50-27.62 per hour. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
