Software Product Analyst

PayTrace- Remote, US

What you'll be doing:

In this role, your mission is to provide the evidence and insights our Product Managers and Project Managers need to make confident, data-backed decisions about where the product goes next. You won't just be generating reports; you'll be the "detective" who uncovers user trends and market shifts, helping the PM prioritize the features that will have the biggest impact.

  • Empower PM Decision-Making: You will use reporting tools (such as Sigma) to build intuitive dashboards that give PMs a clear view of how features are being used. Your goal is to ensure no roadmap decision is made in the dark.

  • Inform Feature Prioritization: By analyzing user journeys and friction points, you’ll help the PM understand which improvements are urgent and which can wait. You provide the "why" behind the "what."

  • Provide Competitive Context: You’ll keep a pulse on the market, performing competitive analysis to help the PM understand where we have an edge and where we’re falling behind.

  • Bridge the Gap in Problem-Solving: When issues or bugs arise, you’ll dive into the data to assess the impact. This allows the PM to quickly decide whether to pivot resources toward a fix or stay the course on new builds.

  • Validate Hypotheses: You’ll provide the baseline data and post-launch analysis in support of the Product and Project Managers to confirm if the change actually moved the needle.

  • Enable Transparency:  You’ll support the Project Managers by keeping dashboards up to date on Portfolio metrics so the company has visibility into progress on projects and initiatives.

Your Toolkit

  • Data Reporting Proficiency: You’re comfortable using data reporting tools, such as Sigma and Snowflake, to explore data and create visualizations that help the PM team track their goals, product metrics, and other value added data at a glance.

  • A "Partner" Mindset: You enjoy working closely with PMs to translate their business questions into clear data projects.

  • Market Curiosity: You have a natural interest in the competitive landscape and enjoy digging into what other products are doing well.

  • Analytical Clarity: You can take a messy problem—like a drop in user sign-ups—and break it down into clear, actionable findings for the product team.

  • Effective Communication:  You can have effective meetings and discussions in a remote environment, verbally and in writing with internal and external stakeholders.

What we need from you:

  • High school diploma.  Associate’s degree, certifications in data analysis or business analytics are a plus.

  • 2+ years in an analytical role (Product, Marketing, or Business Intelligence) where you supported stakeholders in making strategic choices, preferably in the Fintech industry.

  • Strong Communication: You excel at explaining what the data means in plain English, focusing on the "so what?" for the product's future.

  • Proactive Problem Solver: You don't wait for a PM to ask for data; you notice trends and bring them to the table first, uncovering the root cause and other contributing factors.

Salary Range: $72,000- $85,000

Pay within this range varies by work location and on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. We look forward to discussing your salary expectations and our full total rewards offerings throughout the interview process.
