Product Data Management Analyst

San Francisco Bay Area (Hybrid — Burlingame office 2-3x/week required)
Must currently reside locally; this is not a remote-eligible role.

Summary

The Senior Product Data Management Analyst is a critical touch point between Engineering, Operations, and Suppliers for Simbe's robotic products, including the Tally autonomous shelf-scanning robot and its associated hardware ecosystem. This role owns the administration of Simbe's PLM tool and data, authors and drives change orders through approval, and enforces the documentation standards and processes that keep Simbe's hardware programs traceable and audit-ready as the company scales globally.

Responsibilities

Change Order Management

Author change orders — including ECOs, MCOs, and Deviations — with input from Engineering and Operations

Drive change orders through the full approval workflow, coordinating with cross-functional stakeholders to obtain timely sign-offs

Communicate changes to suppliers and contract manufacturers, and track their feedback including implementation and effectivity dates

PLM Administration

Administer the Arena PLM tool, including user and supplier access, change order workflow definition, and approval matrix configuration

Serve as the business owner of the Item Master, BOM Master, Approved Vendor List, and overall document data integrity

Maintain part lifecycle status and enforce consistent BOM structuring practices across all hardware programs

Process and Standards

Develop, implement, and enforce change order processes, revision and version control policies, BOM structuring guidelines, and documentation standards

Issue new part numbers and enforce part numbering conventions across programs

Continuously identify and drive improvements to PDM/PLM processes as Simbe's product lines and supplier base grow

Supplier and Cross-Functional Coordination

Partner with Supply Chain to drive change implementation and traceability with contract manufacturers and component suppliers

Work closely with Engineering to ensure changes are documented accurately and released with complete, correct data

Track supplier commitment dates for change implementation through to closure

Skills and Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years experience as a PDM or Document Control Analyst administering a PLM tool on a world-class product change control team

Arena experience strongly preferred

Subject Matter Expert in PDM/PLM processes, including BOM structuring, revision/version management, material disposition, and supplier implementation

Experience working with global suppliers and contract manufacturers across time zones and language barriers

Ability to excel in a high-velocity environment, maintaining focus and composure under pressure

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Attention to Detail: Rigorous about data accuracy and integrity across item, BOM, and vendor records

Process Discipline: Comfortable enforcing standards and pushing back when documentation doesn't meet requirements

Collaboration: Strong communicator who works effectively across Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and external suppliers
