As a Senior Product Engineer, you will help build Alamo, the internal software platform that powers The American Housing Corporation’s manufacturing, supply chain, inventory, production, real estate, design, and operations workflows.

You will work directly with the people running the business to understand real operational problems, shape product solutions, and ship software that makes the company faster, clearer, and more capable. You will build tools that help architects design homes, help real estate teams identify developable opportunities, and help manufacturing teams turn those designs into physical products.

This role is ideal for an engineer with strong product instincts, excellent taste in user experience, and the technical depth to take ideas from ambiguous problem to reliable production system.

The role is based full-time in Austin, TX.

What You’ll Be Working On

  • Build product workflows for Alamo, our internal MES/ERP platform.

  • Build software that helps architects design, configure, and refine homes from concept through production.

  • Build tools that help the real estate team evaluate land, identify developable opportunities, and understand project feasibility.

  • Work closely with manufacturing, supply chain, finance, design, real estate, and operations teams to understand their workflows and identify high-leverage product opportunities.

  • Turn messy operational processes into simple, elegant, and reliable software.

  • Own features end-to-end: discovery, design, implementation, rollout, iteration, and maintenance.

  • Build polished user experiences using Next.js, TypeScript, Tailwind, and shadcn/ui.

  • Develop backend services, database models, and APIs that support mission-critical operational workflows.

  • Help define the product and design standards for internal software at AHC.

  • Improve speed, quality, traceability, and decision-making across the business.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.

  • Strong fullstack engineering ability, especially with TypeScript, React, and relational databases.

  • Excellent product judgment and a track record of building software that users genuinely adopt.

  • Strong taste in user experience, information architecture, and workflow design.

  • Ability to work directly with operators, understand their problems, and translate them into clear product requirements.

  • Comfort operating in ambiguity and making thoughtful tradeoffs.

  • Strong communication skills and a high degree of ownership.

  • Experience building internal tools, ERP, MES, inventory, logistics, manufacturing, construction, or operational software is a plus.

Additional Information

  • The company provides comprehensive benefits, PTO, and participation in company equity programs.

  • This is an in-person role for builders who want to work closely with the people using the software every day.

  • No visa sponsorship.
