Overview

The Product Lead (Senior Product Manager) is responsible for defining the vision, strategy, and roadmap for Compassion’s emerging donor‑funded initiatives that support holistic child development through local church partners. Acting as the bridge between donor needs, organizational goals, and cross‑functional teams, this role guides the full lifecycle of these offerings—from concept to launch to ongoing refinement.

In this position, you will direct both marketing strategy and product development for innovative, comprehensive funding initiatives designed for major donors and churches capable of substantial multi‑year investments. Because these offerings are still maturing, the Product Lead must be a seasoned marketing and product leader who can deeply understand donor motivations, conduct market and stakeholder research, and collaborate across the organization—including major donor representatives, church teams, researchers, channel leaders, operations, finance, and program experts—to refine the product and strengthen its differentiation in the marketplace.

You will lead the creation of compelling messaging, naming, brand identity, and donor‑facing collateral, elevating awareness and engagement among major donors and global fundraising partners. In partnership with regional fundraising teams, you will equip representatives to communicate the value proposition and inspire donor participation.

The Product Lead also drives continuous improvement of the offering by gathering donor feedback and internal insights to refine the donor experience, product features, value proposition, and operational feasibility. You will define success metrics, analyze engagement and retention trends, and ensure the offering delivers meaningful impact for children and communities.

This role reports to the Director of Product Marketing and works closely with Global Fundraising, Compassion Ventures Group, and stakeholders across the organization to ensure the product delivers both donor value and programmatic effectiveness.

What will you do?

  • Maintain a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Be a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, maintaining a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Compassion, and faithfully uphold Compassion’s ministry in prayer.
  • Act as an advocate to raise the awareness of the needs of children. Understand Christ’s mandate to protect children. Commit to and prioritizes child protection considerations in all decision-making, tasks and activities across the ministry. Abide by all behavioral expectations in Compassion’s Statement of Commitment to Child Protection and Code of Conduct. Report any concerns of abuse, neglect or exploitation of children through Compassion’s internal reporting process and appropriately support responses to incidents if they occur.
  • Uphold and engage in Compassion’s core Cultural Behaviors.
  •  Lead marketing strategy, messaging, and collateral for donor-funded initiatives
  •  Develop compelling product naming and brand identity
  • Create donor-facing materials and messaging
  • Collaborate with fundraising teams and regional representatives to promote offerings
  • Refine product features and donor experience based on feedback
  • Ensure operational and financial sustainability of offerings
  • Define and track KPIs, donor engagement, and retention metrics
  • Support of other products as assigned.

What do you bring?

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, communications, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in product marketing, product management, or related strategic roles—ideally within donor‑funded, nonprofit, or mission‑driven environments.
  • Proven ability to define product strategy and roadmap, lead cross‑functional collaboration, and manage products through the full lifecycle.
  • Preferred: Demonstrated expertise in major‑donor‑focused marketing, including message development, collateral creation, and value‑proposition refinement.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to translate insights into product improvements, track performance metrics, and influence senior stakeholders.

Why work here?

  • The mission: Join a team that is motivated to release children from poverty in Jesus’ name.
  • Our benefits: Receive generous paid time off, 10% contribution to a 403(b) retirement fund on top of your salary, excellent healthcare coverage, free short-term professional counseling, and more.
  • Spiritual growth: Participate in regular chapel services, prayer groups, and department devotionals.
