This position reports to:

ELDS US Business Line Portfolio Leader

In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead the Product Management teams to meet global targets and to plan, monitor, and develop a global product portfolio for strategic businesses. Each day, you will contribute to defining the business strategy, translate it along with market requirements into a competitive portfolio, and manage the associated portfolio planning, investment, and development activities. You will also showcase your expertise by defining a go-to-market model and segment strategy and aligning them with the operational/execution path.

The work model for the role is: Hybrid out of Cary, NC #LI-Hybrid

This role is contributing to the Electrical Distribution Division in North America Business Line. Main stakeholders are all Sales, Marketing, R&D, and Operations.

Product Line responsibilities include managing a team of Product Managers for the following offerings:

  • Low Voltage Switchgear

  • Low Voltage Motor Control Centers

  • Low Voltage Busway

Your role and responsibilities:

  • Leading a continuous business analysis of the existing portfolio and potential new portfolio items, including analysis of alternative investments, and reviewing potential partnering options.

  • Defining brand and product portfolio offering and positioning in cases of multi-brand ABB ownership.

  • Analyzing the content of the portfolio, continuously, with a focus on potential new products and identifying the needs, opportunities, risks, and ABB’s positioning against the competition.

  • Proposing and being directly involved in Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) partnership activities, by defining the brand, offering portfolio, and related business strategies.

Qualifications for the role:

  • You are engaged in the electrical distribution market with focus on Utility, Data Center, Commercial, and Industrial infrastructure.

  • 15 years+ of experience in product management or related field. Having lead teams in the past is highly desired.

  • You are highly adept in technology, marketing or sales, with strong business financial capabilities.

  • You are passionate about collaboration and have strong influencing skills.

  • You have the ability to inspire and lead both direct workforce and other stakeholders.

  • Degree in Engineering, Business, or related fields. Have a demonstrated track record in Product Management, Engineering, or Commercial functions.

  • You are at ease communicating in English.

  • Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
