As Product Manager for R1’s Pricing Service, you will own the vision and roadmap for a critical shared service that estimates expected insurance reimbursement for patient claims, where accuracy is essential across R1 service lines. You will identify and deliver high-impact improvements to the Pricing Engine and Contract Modeling application, leveraging deep analytical skills to work with complex deterministic data and varied reimbursement methodologies. Partnering with engineering and internal stakeholders, you will gather requirements, build value projections, model roadmap impact, and own all work intake and the Agile product backlog—negotiating priorities to drive delivery (this is not a customer-facing role).

This position reports to the Sr. Manager of Product over R1’s Pricing Service

Here’s what you will experience working as a Product Manager III:

  • Define and communicate the product strategy for the Pricing Service expected reimbursement calculation engine, ensuring alignment with organizational goals  
  • Prioritize and manage the product roadmap, identifying highest impact enhancements and projecting expected business value 
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into actionable product features  
  • Lead the product development process, working closely with the development team to ensure timely and successful delivery   
  • Monitor product performance and user feedback to identify areas for improvement and innovation  
  • Participate and lead the full software development life cycle from technical design to development, testing and deployment  
  • Develop and deliver presentations to executive leadership on product status, risks, and opportunities  
  • Review technical solutions and conduct demos with stakeholders  
  • Understand, support, enforce, and comply with company policies, procedures, and Standards of Business Ethics and Conduct. 

Required Skills:  

  • 2+ years of product management experience is required, preferably in healthcare revenue cycle or related fields  
  • Advanced SQL Experience (complex queries, data transformations, etc.)  
  • Expert in data analysis, including pattern and anomaly detection 
  • Expert in data investigation and reconciliation, able to trace issues to specific upstream sources, business rules, or process steps 
  • Familiarity with healthcare revenue cycle data, including standards such as HL7 and X12 
  • Experience with Agile Scrum product development methodologies  
  • Experience with Azure DevOps, or related product management tools  
  • Proven ability to translate user enhancement requests into technical product requirements 
  • Proven ability to develop business cases that model and project ROI for a feature 
  • Proven ability to prioritize and manage a value-driven feature roadmap 
  • Demonstrated exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail 
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize among many requirements  
  • Experience with healthcare payer contract modeling and management a plus 
For this US-based position, the base pay range is $96,600.00 - $141,565.18 per year . Individual pay is determined by role, level, location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.This job is eligible to participate in our annual bonus plan at a target of 10.00%
