Adventure is our Culture. Join a team that celebrates a lifestyle as bold as the terrain we love. At Backcountry, we are rooted in adventure, recognition, and wellbeing on and off the mountain. We spotlight employee stories, celebrate milestones, and offer exclusive outdoor perks. Whether you are at HQ, in a retail store, or remote, you will be part of a team that thrives on energy, exploration, and connection.

Reports to: Vice President of Product and UX
Location: Canada (Hybrid or Remote), Austin (Hybrid), or Utah (Hybrid, 3 days/week onsite)

About the Role

As our Product Manager, Loyalty and Checkout, you will own two of the most critical areas of the business: Summit Club+, Backcountry's paid loyalty subscription, and the full lower funnel experience including cart, checkout, order confirmation, wishlist, and post-purchase moments. This role sits at the intersection of growth, customer experience, and monetization — and you will carry meaningful ownership from day one.

You will maximize conversion across the lower funnel while evolving Summit Club+ into the best loyalty program in the outdoor industry. Your work will have direct influence on revenue, margin, and customer lifetime value.

At six to twelve months, success looks like measurable improvement in funnel conversion rates, growing Summit Club+ membership and retention, and a roadmap your cross-functional partners trust and rally behind.

What You'll Do

    Summit Club+ Loyalty Strategy
  • Own the product vision, roadmap, and execution for Summit Club+, Backcountry's paid loyalty subscription.
  • Partner with marketing, analytics, and finance to grow membership, improve retention, and increase member lifetime value.
  • Define and evolve benefits, experiences, and mechanics that differentiate Summit Club+ in the market.
  • Integrate loyalty touchpoints across the full customer journey.
  • Lower Funnel Conversion & Experience
  • Own the cart, checkout, receipt, wishlist, and post-purchase experience.
  • Lead CRO initiatives across the lower funnel, balancing speed, clarity, trust, and margin.
  • Ship high-quality improvements iteratively in close partnership with engineering.
  • Data-Driven Growth & Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Define success metrics for loyalty and funnel initiatives and use experimentation to prioritize work.
  • Adjust strategy based on performance data and market signals.
  • Work closely with engineering, design, marketing, merchandising, analytics, and operations to translate business goals into product requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • 3-5+ years of product management experience.
  • Experience owning checkout, subscriptions, loyalty, or retention programs.
  • Demonstrated CRO and growth impact with measurable results.
  • Strong analytical and experimentation skills.
  • Ability to ship iteratively and maintain momentum through rapid release cycles.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Experience with GA4, Looker, SQL, or similar analytics tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience using AI tools within product workflows — pulling live context from project and documentation tools, prototyping over slide-decking, and automating repetitive tasks.
  • Background building or scaling paid membership or subscription programs.
  • Experience in outdoor, retail, or e-commerce industries.
