As a Product Manager, you'll own metrics for job completion, enhance provider matching logic, and leverage AI tools for data-driven improvements in a fast-paced environment.

About HouseAccount

At HouseAccount, we’re building the modern home services platform, starting with the handyman. We connect homeowners to trusted local providers and make it simple to book, manage, and pay for everything their home needs in one place. By combining vetted pros, transparent pricing, and AI-powered automation, we’re turning home maintenance into something homeowners don’t have to think about.

What You’ll Do

You’ll own the metrics and mechanics behind getting jobs completed. Your world is the “invisible” product: the matching logic, job states, and messaging flows that turn booking requests into successful, completed jobs for homeowners and providers.

You’ll obsess over job-completion data, design and iterate on our provider nomination and matching logic, and use AI tooling to transform messy, real-world feedback into structured signals that improve the system over time. You’ll work side-by-side with engineering, mostly in the backend and data layer, in a product that’s increasingly “headless” -  driven by SMS, chat, and voice rather than point-and-click UI.

A typical day might include:

  • Defining and tracking metrics like match → contact → scheduled → completed, fulfilled vs dropped, and provider completion rates
  • Partnering with engineering to tweak and test nomination logic (weights for completion rate, ratings, specialty, geography, boost status, etc.)
  • Using AI tools to turn unstructured SMS threads and provider/homeowner feedback into structured sentiment and features that feed our models
  • Designing when and how we reach out to homeowners and providers (timing, content, state changes) across SMS/chat/voice
  • Writing clear tickets that connect experiments directly to job-completion and customer satisfaction metrics
  • Digging into cohort and funnel analyses to understand why jobs are dropping and where we can intervene
  • Collaborating with founders, ops, sales, and CS to turn what they’re seeing on the ground into experiments in matching, messaging, and routing

You’ll join a small team that values speed, clarity, and ownership. We care more about whether the jobs get done and the numbers move than about traditional product ceremony.

What Matters to Us

  • You are deeply metrics-driven and get energy from living in funnels, cohorts, and ratios
  • You’re comfortable working on backend-heavy, data-intensive product problems
  • You have a strong grasp of AI tooling and how to turn unstructured text into usable, structured product signals
  • You like being in the weeds with engineers: data models, state machines, events, and edge cases don’t scare you
  • You value iteration over perfection and are happy to ship small, learn fast, and adjust
  • You care about building strong, trusting relationships with engineering and operations, not just writing specs

Who You Are

  • 3 to 6 years of experience in Product Management (or similar analytical/product role) at an early stage startup or fast-moving product company
  • Proven track record owning a metric (conversion, completion, retention, etc.) and moving it with product changes
  • Comfortable working closely with engineers on backend systems, data pipelines, and stateful workflows
  • Hands-on with analytics and experimentation tools (e.g., SQL/Metabase/Looker/Amplitude, A/B testing, funnel analysis)
  • Experience using LLMs/AI for classification, summarization, sentiment, or feature extraction from text is a strong plus
  • Familiarity with marketplaces, logistics/dispatch, gig/on-demand, or other systems where matching and completion matter is a plus
  • You’ve worked in early-stage environments before or want to.  You’re comfortable with ambiguity and like helping shape the product, not just manage it
  • Bias toward action: you’re willing to make a call, ship, and learn rather than wait for perfect information

Why This Role Matters

Job completion is the heartbeat of HouseAccount. If bookings don’t turn into successful, high-quality jobs, nothing else works.

In this role, you’ll own that heartbeat. You’ll design and refine the logic, signals, and flows that decide which provider gets which job, when we nudge them, and how we know a job is actually done well. You’ll turn AI, data, and real-world feedback into a system that feels simple and reliable to homeowners and providers, even though there’s a lot of complexity under the hood.

This is a chance to take end-to-end ownership of a core marketplace metric, work directly with founders and engineering, and help define how a modern, headless home services marketplace should work.
