POSITION SUMMARY:

The Product Manager for Lab operations software / Lab information management system (LIMS) will be responsible for one or more components of Natera’s Laboratory Management Software product strategy and development to support laboratory operations of Natera’s tests. This includes assay execution, sample management, equipment and reagent management, user & security management, and lab capacity, scheduling & performance planning. The role will lead software development  in LabVantage LIMS and be responsible for the product lifecycle from concept to obsolescence.  This includes creation of a strategic product roadmap, evaluation and prioritization of new features and programs, creation of product requirements, and evaluation and improvement of product performance.

This software product is a key piece in Natera’s test management software suite that is responsible for all of the steps in running Natera tests – from a patient sample arriving at the lab to the report generation. This role is a tremendous opportunity to influence how tests are processed at Natera and impact the lives of people with cancer, organ transplant and women’s health needs.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the vision, strategy and roadmap for one or more components of Natera’s Lab operations software / Lab information management system (LIMS)

  • Play a key role in building a high throughput lab with automation to reduce COGS, increase turnaround time, and scaling to support high volume.

  • Build the software tools that address various Lab Operations software needs from assay execution, sample management, equipment and reagents management, user and security management, and lab capacity, scheduling & performance management.

  • Collaborate with other software products that are part of the software suite that drives testing from sample to report.

  • Partner with Lab Operations leaders and contribute to the strategy of running a high throughput highly efficient lab. Ensure a seamless user experience for the lab operators.

  • Define and track KPIs to uncover future product opportunities; analyze relevant data to drive decision-making.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in product management including in lab operations software/ LIMS / lab products.

  • Strong knowledge of LabVantage LIMS or other LIMS

  • Prior experience in implementing LIMS in an NGS lab.

  • Prior experience in these key areas of LIMS: sample management, equipment and reagent management, instrument integration, and user and security management.

  • Strong understanding of and experience with key areas in running a high throughput highly efficient lab including automation, capacity and performance planning and more.

  • Prior experience of having worked in a lab is a plus.

  • Proven ability to work with cross functional teams and build rapport with key stakeholders

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.

  • Flexible, and agile; willingness to tackle any type of challenge; highly motivated to roll up sleeves and get work done while also thinking strategically.

The pay range is listed and actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location. This may differ in other locations due to cost of labor considerations.
