About Sweatpals

Sweatpals is the community-first fitness platform turning workouts into social experiences. Backed by a16z speedrun, Patron, Kevin Hart, Pear VC, and founders of Instacart and Dreamworks Animations, we connect hundreds of thousands of “pals,” hosts, and gyms through events, memberships, and social features. We’re still scrappy at heart, but scaling fast.

We believe working out should be joyful, social, and inclusive - not just a solo grind. From run clubs and beach pilates to pickleball leagues and cold plunge socials, Sweatpals turns everyday workouts into meaningful social experiences.

Sweatpals also gives local leaders the tools to grow their fitness communities from side hustles to full-time, even million-dollar businesses. Hosts use our platform to run their business - from ticketing and memberships to marketing tools.

Why This Role Matters

We’re looking for a hands-on, outcome-obsessed Product Manager who can move fast without losing the thread. You’ll be the bridge between strategy and execution—owning end-to-end delivery while constantly sharpening product direction through user insights, market signals, and performance data.

What You’ll Own

📦 Product Delivery & Execution
  • Own the roadmap and sprint pipeline across mobile and web—sequence work, track dependencies, and ensure the team is always building toward impact.

  • Lead standups, sprint planning, retros, QA, and hotfix triage with rigor and clarity.

  • Stay close to engineering velocity and proactively resolve scope, process, or team friction.

📊 Data, Insights & Tracking
  • Define and own clear metrics frameworks at the squad level - MAU, GMV, retention, LTV—and track progress to OKRs.

  • Build and improve tracking plans; partner with eng to implement Amplitude events and dashboards.

  • Drive insights from the data and surface the “so what”—turn dashboards into product action.

🧠 Customer Discovery & Validation
  • Lead user interviews, shadow sessions, and concept testing to uncover real pain points.

  • Translate feedback into hypotheses, prototypes, and MVPs that feel distinctly “Sweatpalsy.”

  • Run fast experiments, measure outcomes, and double down on what resonates.

🛠 Cross-functional Collaboration
  • Break down complex technical ideas so anyone—from eng to execs—can follow the story.

  • Maintain a crisp flow of communication in Slack, Loom, Notion, and stakeholder reviews.

  • Constantly reprioritize across a portfolio of initiatives—balancing speed, dependencies, and long-term bets.

🎨 Product Quality & Craftsmanship
  • Uphold a high bar for design, UX, and build quality across every feature—ensuring the product feels cohesive, polished, and deeply user-loved.

  • Partner closely with Design, Engineering, and GTM to align on quality from first sketch to final ship.

  • Identify gaps in execution, advocate for excellence, and push for refinements when the experience isn’t ready to ship.

  • Bring taste and product judgment—knowing when something’s good, and when it’s great.

  • Champion a culture of care and craft, where every release builds toward a product users are proud to use and share.

You’ll Thrive Here If You...
  • Have 3–6 years of experience shipping consumer, marketplace or building SAAs for SMBs products—ideally mobile-first.

  • Treat tools like Linear, Notion, Amplitude, and Loom as second nature.

  • Love getting your hands dirty—from clarifying ambiguous specs to poking at broken dashboards.

  • Constantly seek context and ask sharp questions that move the product forward.

  • Translate chaos into action plans—and aren’t afraid to step outside the roadmap to unlock 10x outcomes.

  • Stay curious about new technologies, especially AI tools and systems that improve speed, quality, or personalization.

  • Take pride in building high-quality products and find joy in the craft—from thoughtful UX to crisp execution.

  • Are energized by fitness, community, or creators—or just believe movement makes everything better.

Bonus Points
  • Experience with React Native + React pipelines and scaling CI/CD.

  • Familiar with marketplace mechanics (POS, payouts, incentives).

  • Exposure to AI-driven features (ranking, recommendations, content gen).

  • Built systems or features that prioritize social connection and retention.

You’ll thrive here if you:
  • Want real ownership — your work will make an impact here

  • Love testing, learning, and scaling what works

  • Want to see your work show up in real life, driving growth in cities and communities across the country

  • Take pride in clear thinking, fast execution, and measurable results

  • Are energized by smart, ambitious teammates who move quickly and care deeply about the mission

  • Are motivated by helping people connect, belong, and live healthier lives

Our Values
  • Celebrate Diversity of Thought: We embrace different backgrounds, opinions, and ways of thinking. We don’t just welcome disagreement—we believe it makes the product better.

  • Be a Leader: We take initiative, speak up, and drive things forward—no matter your title. Leadership is a mindset, not a level.

  • Roll Up Our Sleeves: We do what it takes. No job is too small when we’re building something big.

  • Embrace Adventure: We stay curious, push boundaries, and see challenges as opportunities. Startups are a rollercoaster—and we’re here for the ride.

  • Make Excellence the Baseline: We hold a high bar for quality and follow through—doing great work is the starting point, not the finish line.

We’re still early - which means your work will shape our path and our impact on communities and businesses everywhere. If you’re excited by challenge, autonomy, and building something that matters, you’ll feel at home here.

Ready to build the product the fitness world’s been waiting for?
