Position Summary

We’re a small but mighty group of Product Managers that work with our in-house experts and customers to build this next generation of Football Data Analytics and AI experiences for our customers.  It’s a complex but exciting task to create products that enable teams to realize explosive growth while not requiring laborious user retraining to best leverage new tools.  This is our remit and responsibility as the PMs of SumerSports.  We want someone that can take an idea and then get things into the hands of our in-house experts and customers in a non-invasive way and iterate as needed.

Job Overview:

As we are a small company, this Product Manager role will touch multiple facets across the product portfolio.  Regardless of the problem, our Product Managers are expected to be able to work through ambiguity – identify the customer needs and problems to solve, identify approaches to handle this need, and deliver that product into the hands of the customers.  We’re early in our journey, so you need to be able to parallelize and deliver alongside multiple other groups since we need to get lots out the door – fast.

The ideal PM candidate has a deep passion for sports, football in particular, and working in a fast-paced environment with equally dedicated and intelligent teammates.  We want self-starters that constantly finds bigger and better ways to get more done for our customers and the business.

Responsibilities

  • Business case development & growth: contributing to the commercial rationale for what we build, helping to connect product initiatives to measurable outcomes like revenue, retention, and customer expansion.
  • Customer & workflow understanding: figure out what our customers and users are really trying to do, and what are the parameters that define whether our approach and solution will be usable.
  • Driving development squads: working with our Design, Analytics, Engineering and in-house GMs, Coaches and Scouts to ensure that what we deliver is the right solution to the right problem on time, every time.
  • Customer onboarding & success: PMs own the in-product onboarding experience for our customers, as well as the guidance and support process.  Thinking as the customer and accounting for their proactive or reactive needs is part of the job here at SumerSports.

Qualifications

  • At least 7+ years of Product Management experience, including experience in various forms of structured Software Development Lifecycle management (Kanban, Scrum, etc.)
  • Experience building products that incorporate and re-use components across multiple business or product lines
  • In-depth customer engagement and management is a strongly desired quality – have you worked with customers directly to gather requirements, explain products, gather feedback, put out fires
  • Passion for football and sports with a keen understanding of the sports community and culture.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Benefits

  • Competitive Salary and Bonus Plan
  • Comprehensive health insurance plan
  • Retirement savings plan (401k) with company match
  • Remote working environment
  • A flexible, unlimited time off policy
  • Generous paid holiday schedule - 13 in total including Monday after the Super Bowl
