Ready to be pushed beyond what you think you’re capable of?

At Coinbase, our mission is to increase economic freedom in the world. It’s a massive, ambitious opportunity that demands the best of us, every day, as we build the emerging onchain platform — and with it, the future global financial system.

To achieve our mission, we’re seeking a very specific candidate. We want someone who is passionate about our mission and who believes in the power of crypto and blockchain technology to update the financial system. We want someone who is eager to leave their mark on the world, who relishes the pressure and privilege of working with high caliber colleagues, and who actively seeks feedback to keep leveling up. We want someone who will run towards, not away from, solving the company’s hardest problems.

Our work culture is intense and isn’t for everyone. But if you want to build the future alongside others who excel in their disciplines and expect the same from you, there’s no better place to be.

While many roles at Coinbase are remote-first, we are not remote-only. In-person participation is required throughout the year. Team and company-wide offsites are held multiple times annually to foster collaboration, connection, and alignment. Attendance is expected and fully supported.

Coinbase recently announced the upcoming launch of Coinbase One Card, a credit card that gives you bitcoin back on your spending. You’ll be supporting the Card team in launching the credit card: from increasing awareness, to converting interested people to cardholders, and to making the card top-of-wallet.

What you’ll be doing (ie. job duties):

  • Be the voice of the customer: immerse yourself in the crypto investment ecosystem and understand which existing customer segments most want to earn bitcoin on their spending. Immerse yourself in the credit card ecosystem and understand how the credit card may encourage other segments to get started with Coinbase.
  • Develop growth strategies and tactics: ideate, refine, and execute growth strategies. This will include owned channels like email/push/social, physical and digital paid marketing, influencers, events/activations, and promotions.
  • Lead product and feature launches: put together go to market strategy for feature launches and any upcoming credit or debit card offerings
  • Measure and report against the performance of product marketing initiatives
  • Think big about the future of card payments and how we can build better experiences and deeper connections with customers

What we look for in you (ie. job requirements):

  • Minimum of 5 years of marketing experience within the payments, FinTech, or crypto spaces
  • Demonstrated track record of ideating and implementing growth strategies on products
  • Demonstrated track record of creating customer segmentation and insights
  • Powerful storyteller: written, verbal, and visual
  • Advanced quantitative and deductive skills. Ability to distinguish between the signal and the noise and make data-guided actions
  • Outstanding project management skills
  • Self-starter and ability to be ready to roll-up your sleeves and get things done
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams

Nice to haves:

  • Experience working to grow a credit or debit card
  • Experience working at a cryptocurrency exchange
  • Avid crypto trader or holder
