Company Description

Zlayt AI is a litigation automation platform designed specifically for personal injury law. It offers advanced tools for creating demand letters, deposition summaries, discovery responses, and case analysis. By enabling law firms to draft efficiently and think strategically, Zlayt AI eliminates friction and improves results. The company’s mission extends beyond automation, aiming to empower legal professionals to achieve more with ease and confidence.

Role Description

Zlayt AI is seeking a Product Owner for a full-time, on-site position in Austin, TX. This role is responsible for owning the day-to-day execution of the product, translating business and customer needs into clear development priorities, and ensuring the engineering team is consistently building the highest-impact work.

This is an execution-first role, not a strategy-only position. The Product Owner will work closely with engineering, design, sales, and leadership to remove ambiguity, make tradeoffs, and ship product improvements that directly impact revenue, onboarding, and customer adoption. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-moving environments, is comfortable making decisions with incomplete information, and measures success by what ships and what changes in the business.

Responsibilities

  • Own and maintain the product backlog, ensuring work is clearly defined, prioritized, and ready for development.
  • Translate customer feedback, sales input, and leadership direction into actionable product requirements.
  • Lead developers by setting priorities, clarifying scope, and unblocking decisions quickly to maintain momentum.
  • Partner closely with engineering and design during sprint planning, execution, and release.
  • Sit in on sales demos and customer conversations to understand objections, friction, and real-world usage.
  • Ensure product work directly supports revenue goals, user activation, and time-to-value.
  • Review shipped work to confirm it solves the intended problem and meets quality expectations.
  • Track product performance post-launch and recommend iterations based on feedback and data.
  • Clearly communicate product decisions, tradeoffs, and priorities to stakeholders across the company.

Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of experience in a Product Owner, Product Manager, or similar product execution role.
  • Experience working on B2B SaaS products, preferably in workflow-heavy or enterprise environments.
  • Strong ability to prioritize work based on impact, effort, and urgency.
  • Comfort working directly with engineers and understanding technical constraints and tradeoffs.
  • Experience using product management tools such as Jira, Linear, or ClickUp.
  • Familiarity with analytics tools (Mixpanel, Amplitude, PostHog, or similar).
  • Working knowledge of Figma sufficient to review designs, provide feedback, and validate flows.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to make decisions and explain them clearly.
  • Comfortable operating in an early-stage, fast-paced environment with evolving priorities.

Our core principles are:

  • Excellence Always
  • We All Take Out the Trash
  • Data-Driven Results
  • We Outwork Our Opponents
