The Role

As a Production Support Engineer at OnePay, your mandate will be to help bridge the gap between Engineering and our Customer Experience team. You’ll work closely with our Product and Engineering teams to properly understand complex integrated systems that cross between functional teams and third party Vendors. Our team is defined by our ability to diagnose any issue across our entire platform, so success in this role is just as dependent on critical thinking skills as it is on technical skills. You will:

  • Use AI to identify and implement operational improvements and efficiencies to build the future of Production Support

  • Investigate and resolve complex production issues that affects user experience

  • Interface with critical vendor systems using a mix of SQL and API calls to research a customer complaints

  • Commit fixes to our backend systems

  • Act as an engineering consultant for our Operations team to automate manual processes

You Bring

  • At least 1 year of engineering experience with proficiency in at least one backend language. We use Node.js and Typescript throughout our stack, so an interest in learning and coding in Typescript is ideal

  • Experience with SQL and REST APIs

  • Excellent written communication skills paired with the ability to use them to collaborate with both technical and non-technical teams

  • Knowledge of payment systems (e.g. card processing, ACH), familiarity with AWS, and shell scripting experience with bash, zsh or similar is preferred
