Product UI/UX Designer

About OpenArt

OpenArt is an AI-native visual storytelling platform used by millions of creators worldwide. We build production-grade tools for AI image and video generation, with a focus on making advanced models usable, intuitive, and expressive for real users.

Our work sits at the intersection of creativity, storytelling, and applied AI. We care deeply about product clarity, usability, and translating powerful technology into experiences that feel natural and accessible.

The Role

We are looking for a Product UI/UX Designer to own the end-to-end design of core OpenArt workflows. This role is highly cross-functional and product-oriented, spanning user research, UX architecture, interaction design, and polished UI execution.

You will work closely with product, engineering, and research to define product direction, shape user journeys, and turn ambiguous ideas into clear, usable systems. This is a role for designers who think in flows and systems, not just screens.

Responsibilities

Design end-to-end user experiences, from user journeys and interaction flows to detailed UI execution

Translate user needs, research insights, and product requirements into clear, intuitive designs

Partner closely with Product, Engineering, and Research to define product direction and prioritize high-impact features

Anticipate edge cases and secondary use cases, ensuring robustness and clarity across workflows

Bring structure to ambiguous problem spaces by asking the right questions and synthesizing inputs

Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that balance usability, creativity, and storytelling

Contribute to a consistent design language that supports scalable product development

Advocate for human-centered design in AI-powered products

What We’re Looking For

Core Skills

Strong background in UX design with solid product thinking

Experience designing systems, flows, and end-to-end user journeys

Ability to translate user research and feedback into actionable design decisions

Proficiency with design and prototyping tools such as Figma

Strong UI fundamentals, with an emphasis on clarity and usability over decoration

Comfort working in ambiguous, fast-moving product environments

Product & Collaboration Skills

Clear product mindset and strong judgment around trade-offs

Collaborative and open to feedback, iteration, and cross-functional work

Proactive problem-solver who identifies opportunities and proposes solutions

Strong communication skills, able to clearly explain design rationale and decisions

Interest in learning and evolving alongside rapidly changing AI technology

Ideal Candidate Profile

A product-focused designer who values UX architecture and systems thinking as much as visual polish

Comfortable moving between user flows, interaction design, and prototyping

Excited to work in a startup environment with high ownership and influence

Interested in creativity, storytelling, and how AI can enable new forms of expression

Location & Work Setup

Bay Area preferred (hybrid encouraged)

Open to remote candidates across North America

Close collaboration with founders and a globally distributed engineering team

Visa sponsorship available

Why OpenArt

This role offers direct ownership over core user experiences in a widely used AI product. You’ll work closely with founders, influence product direction, and design systems that shape how millions of people create with AI.

If you’re motivated by meaningful product impact and enjoy designing at the intersection of technology and creativity, we’d love to connect.
