Traysar was founded in 2025 by second time tech founders, recipients of the Israel Defense Prize, and engineers from elite military units, the Boring Company and SpaceX. Backed by Lux Capital and the founders of Anduril, the leading autonomous defense company, Traysar is reclaiming Western Deterrence by developing and deploying technologies for the 5th domain of warfare: the underground.

Job Summary

Traysar is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Production Engineer to join our team. The machines you are responsible for designing and getting built will be used to destroy hundreds of miles of tunnels currently used for terrorist activities. The candidate will work alongside a product team of electrical and mechanical engineers and report to the team lead.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate and own the transition from schematic and detailed design to manufactured hardware, taking full responsibility for bringing the machine into production.

  • Serve as the primary interface with external suppliers (CNC machining, fabrication, sheet metal, additive manufacturing, hydraulics vendors), including RFQs, technical clarification, and production follow-up.

  • Review, validate, and provide final manufacturing sign-off on all mechanical drawings, specifications, tolerances, and BOMs prior to release to suppliers.

  • Own production readiness through the full hardware lifecycle, ensuring designs are manufacturable, repeatable, and aligned with cost, schedule, and performance targets.

  • Oversee on-site assembly of the machine, including build sequencing, tooling requirements, fit-up resolution, and coordination between subsystems (chassis, hydraulics, structures).

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive production documentation, including assembly instructions, work orders, inspection plans, and acceptance criteria.

  • Create and maintain detailed tracking spreadsheets for part status, supplier lead times, system mass, cost, and production schedules.

  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve manufacturing and assembly issues, feeding lessons learned back into design updates and supplier processes.

  • Support qualification and acceptance testing (e.g., fit checks, static load, vibration, shock, thermal) to ensure manufactured hardware meets design intent and safety margins.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 7+ years of work experience.

  • Degree in any field of engineering or equivalent hands-on training.

  • Experience working from 3D CAD models and 2D manufacturing drawings.

  • Experience coordinating manufacturing of mechanical systems involving heavy equipment, hydraulics, or industrial machinery.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Proficiency with NX/SolidWorks.

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, tolerancing, and design for manufacturability (DFM/DFA).

  • Experience working directly with CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, welding, and 3D printing suppliers.

  • Hands-on experience overseeing mechanical assembly and integration on-site.

  • Ability to perform technical drawing reviews and provide final production approval.

  • Proven ability to troubleshoot manufacturing, supply chain, and assembly issues under schedule pressure.

  • Strong organizational, communication, and cross-functional coordination skills.

  • Experience taking hardware from schematic or prototype design into repeatable production.

If there is a fit, we'll schedule two technical interviews. For the second one you will prepare a short presentation about something you built that you are proud of. Those who pass the technical interviews will proceed to a third and final interview on-site.
