Job Summary

The Production Manager leads the entire manufacturing operation at our McGregor, TX facility, driving execution, performance, and strategic alignment with business objectives. This role is responsible for overseeing production schedules, managing department budgets, developing leadership within the supervisory team, and optimizing plant operations for safety, quality, cost, and delivery. The Production Manager works closely with Engineering, Project Management, HR, and Quality departments to implement continuous improvement initiatives, manage cross-functional teams, and support high-value project delivery.

Tasks & Responsibilities

Leadership & Personnel Development

• Manage and mentor a team of production supervisors, leads, and floor personnel across multiple shifts
 • Set performance goals and monitor execution against KPIs for production efficiency, safety, and quality
 • Drive workforce planning, including hiring strategies, succession planning, and cross-training programs
 • Facilitate leadership development and coaching for supervisory staff
 • Champion a culture of accountability, collaboration, and operational excellence

Production Strategy & Execution

• Oversee daily production activities and long-term capacity planning to meet project and business needs
 • Own and manage production schedules, resource allocation, and material flow across departments
 • Ensure timely delivery of fabricated components and final assemblies according to customer specifications
 • Coordinate with procurement and inventory teams to manage supply chain and mitigate disruptions
 • Implement systems to track labor productivity, downtime, and throughput metrics

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with Project Managers to align fabrication timelines with project delivery goals
 • Partner with Engineering to resolve design and production challenges and drive manufacturability improvements
 • Support EHS and Quality teams in achieving regulatory compliance, safety performance, and quality assurance
 • Lead or support capital improvement projects and new equipment integration efforts
 • Collaborate with Finance to establish and manage operating budgets and cost controls

Continuous Improvement

• Lead Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement efforts across the shop floor
 • Identify and remove bottlenecks, reduce waste, and improve process efficiency
 • Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices
 • Support implementation of digital tools or systems for production management, time tracking, and reporting

Safety & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies
 • Promote a strong safety culture through visible leadership and proactive initiatives
 • Partner with the Safety team to investigate incidents, conduct audits, and deliver corrective actions
 • Ensure that production processes and documentation align with ASME, API, and other relevant standards

Competencies

Required
 • Extensive knowledge of fabrication and welding practices, pressure vessel manufacturing, and industrial production workflows
 • Strong leadership and decision-making skills with the ability to manage large teams across shifts
 • Proficiency in production planning, capacity analysis, and resource management
 • Effective communicator, able to influence across functions and levels
 • Ability to analyze production data, drive accountability, and deliver results under tight deadlines
 • Computer proficiency including production management software, spreadsheets, and reporting tools

Preferred
 • Experience with ASME code shop operations and pressure vessel fabrication
 • Formal training in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or related methodologies
 • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
 • Experience with ERP or MRP systems in a manufacturing environment

Education and Experience

• 5+ years of leadership experience in a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a managerial role
 • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Management, or related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered
 • Technical certifications in welding or fabrication a plus
