The Role
As a Production Manager, you will lead a team of 10–12 Retail Loan Originators. You are responsible for training, motivating, and managing performance to drive team success while ensuring an exceptional experience for every member. Your goal is to facilitate loan closings at or ahead of target while maintaining high service standards.
What You’ll Do
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of retail mortgage originators.
- Own production performance metrics, including locks, funds, pull-through, and cycle time.
- Set expectations for daily activity, pipeline health, and conversion discipline.
- Drive go-to-market strategies with realtor partners, builders, and referral programs.
- Act as a second-level escalation point for member, pricing, and execution issues.
- Ensure alignment between Sales and Operations for predictable throughput.
- Maintain adherence to SoFi policies, the SAFE Act, and regulatory requirements.
- Identify risks, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement.
- Support recruiting, onboarding, and change management for new products and tools.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Ops, Compliance, and Analytics.
What You’ll Need
- Bachelor’s or Associate degree, or equivalent industry experience.
- 3+ years of sales management experience, specifically in mortgage or consumer lending.
- Current NMLS license.
- Proven track record of leading teams to meet or exceed rigorous sales targets.
- Experience in centralized sales or processing center management.
- Strong communication skills and a professional demeanor.
- Deep knowledge of regulatory compliance and the mortgage industry.
- Ability to work independently and adapt quickly to process changes.
- Passion for the member experience and developing efficient workflows.
Key Responsibilities
1. Team Leadership & Performance Management: Directly manage and develop a team of 10–12 Retail Loan Originators. Monitor KPIs such as lock volume, funded units, and pull-through rates.
2. Strategic Growth & Business Development: Execute go-to-market strategies and partner with Marketing to optimize lead flow. Assist in recruiting and onboarding top-tier talent.
3. Operational Excellence & Escalation: Bridge the gap between Sales and Operations. Serve as an escalation point for complex pricing or service issues and lead change management initiatives.
4. Compliance & Risk Mitigation: Ensure all activities adhere to the SAFE Act and internal policies. Proactively identify and mitigate production risks.
