Welcome to Campspot! Whether you are an avid camper, the occasional glamper, an expert RV-er, or new to the outdoors entirely, we're interested in working with you. Our team values diverse perspectives as we seek to create an easy-to-navigate and meaningful camping experience for everyone.

We hope you will consider joining our team! ALL human beings are welcome, and we are committed to helping you thrive here. We believe our team, as well as the outdoors, is for everyone.

The Opportunity

To expand our value to campground owners beyond software, Campspot is launching a new internal agency division dedicated to providing high-performance digital marketing services and website solutions to our customers. With a pilot program underway, we are seeking an entrepreneurial Program Manager to build, operationalize, and scale this program from the ground up.

This is not a traditional Program Management role. You will act as the "General Manager" of this new business unit. You will be responsible for defining the Go-To-Market strategy, building the operational infrastructure, managing the P&L, and serving as the primary liaison between technical teams, marketing specialists, and our customers.

What You’ll Do

1. Build the Business (Strategy & Operations)

  • Architect the Program: Design the end-to-end workflows for selling, onboarding, delivering, and maintaining website and marketing services.
  • Go-to-Market Strategy: Collaborate with sales and marketing to package, price, and promote these services to our existing customer base.
  • Operational Autonomy: Establish processes that allow this program to run efficiently without distracting the core Campspot engineering and product teams.
  • Performance Reporting: Develop proprietary reporting frameworks and dashboards that go beyond standard metrics. You will define how we prove value to our customers, demonstrating clear ROI and the impact of the Campspot ecosystem on their bottom line.
  • Partner Management: Form deep partnerships with third party agencies and service providers; determine which activities make sense to support in-house and which are better suited for a partner referral.

2. Manage Website Services (Technical Liaison)

  • Product Definition: Define the scope and tiered offering for our website products, specifically:
    • Templated Sites: Develop a streamlined, low-touch process for launching simple, 1-page websites for smaller campgrounds.
    • Custom Builds: Establish a consultative process for scoping, pricing, and delivering custom-developed websites for larger enterprise customers.
  • Bridge the Gap: Act as the primary translator between non-technical campground owners and our internal (or external) web development teams.
  • Technical Oversight: Ensure all client websites meet high standards for SEO, page speed, mobile responsiveness, and conversion optimization.
  • Lifecycle Management: Create and enforce processes for regular site maintenance, ticket resolution, and feature updates.

3. Lead Marketing Services (Agency Leadership)

  • Service Design: Package our paid media offerings (PPC, Paid Social) into scalable tiers that make sense for campgrounds of different sizes.
  • Platform Expertise: Serve as the internal subject matter expert on digital channels. You will oversee strategy for Google Ads, Meta (Facebook/Instagram), and Email Marketing, ensuring our campaigns are utilizing current best practices.
  • Team Building: Hire, onboard, and manage a team of Digital Marketing Specialists (contractors or FTEs) who will execute ad campaigns.
  • Client Success: Act as the senior Account Director for marketing clients. You must be able to audit a Google Ads account, critique an email flow, or troubleshoot a Meta pixel when necessary.

Who You Are

  • The Entrepreneur: You love building things from scratch. You are comfortable with ambiguity and can create order out of chaos without needing a handbook.
  • The Jack-of-All-Trades: You can pivot from reviewing a P&L statement to troubleshooting a DNS issue, to hopping on a sales call with a campground owner.
  • The Resource Manager: You understand agency economics—balancing resource allocation with client outcomes—ensuring we deliver high value while maintaining operational efficiency.
  • The Translator: You speak fluent "Tech" (HTML/CSS, API, DNS) and fluent "Business" (ROI, conversion rate, margin), and can switch between them instantly.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in a Digital Marketing Agency, Product Management, or Technical Program Management role.
  • Ad Platform Mastery: Proven, hands-on experience managing and optimizing complex campaigns across Google Ads (Search, Display, Performance Max) and Meta/Facebook Ads Manager. You should know these platforms inside and out.
  • Email Marketing Proficiency: Extensive experience working with a variety of Email Service Providers (ESPs) (e.g., Mailchimp, Constant Contact, HubSpot, ActiveCampaign). You understand segmentation, automation flows, and deliverability best practices.
  • Web Proficiency: Strong technical understanding of how websites are built and hosted (CMS experience, basic HTML/CSS knowledge, and understanding of core web vitals).
  • Data Storytelling: Proven ability to create reporting structures that simplify complex data into a narrative that demonstrates value to non-technical clients.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Total compensation for this role is anticipated to be in the following range: $90,000-$120,000
  • Competitive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance options at affordable rates
  • 401(k) plan with employer match
  • Flexible and casual work environment with flexible time off
  • Employee camping credit to encourage getting outdoors and experiencing our product!

We are prioritizing candidates in our hiring hubs of Grand Rapids (MI), Denver (CO), and Chicago (IL) who are interested in regular in-person collaboration. Secondary consideration may be given to candidates who reside in states where we currently have employees outside of our hubs, including MA, NH, NY, NC, OR, TX, UT, VT, VA, and Canada. Candidates located outside of the locations listed previously are not able to be considered at this time.

Campspot is a motivated team of outdoor enthusiasts and software professionals with decades of experience in the campground and outdoor industry. We’re looking to grow with people who embody our culture of learning, collaboration, and innovation. Today our portfolio includes two distinct but synergistic products:

1. Campspot Management Software (https://software.campspot.com/) is the leading provider of reservation management software and tools for campgrounds and RV parks. It revolutionized the industry through its proprietary technology, allowing park owners to increase revenue through its inventory optimization tool and site-lock capabilities.

2. The Campspot Marketplace (campspot.com and Campspot mobile app) is an online marketplace where travelers can find accommodations for their camping trips. Campspot’s inventory is 100% bookable and includes robust filters to help travelers customize their travel experience.
