POSITION OVERVIEW

The Development Manager is responsible for leading the full lifecycle development of projects from initial intake through delivery of EPC-ready packages. This role sits at the center of the development organization and is accountable for maturing and de-risking projects by advancing site control, interconnection, permitting, and engineering integration. The Development Manager works cross-functionally with the Engineering Solutions, Commercial, and Regulatory teams to ensure each project progresses through defined go/no-go gates and is positioned for successful handoff to Project Execution.

This role requires a broad understanding of grid-scale BESS and integrated energy systems, including behind-the-meter (BTM) energy solutions, microgrids, and distributed energy resources (DERs), as well as the ability to manage complex stakeholder environments and development timelines.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead development execution for assigned projects from intake through EPC readiness

  • Define and execute project development strategies, including risk identification and mitigation

  • Advance and secure site control, interconnection agreements, and permitting approvals

  • Integrate technical solutions into executable development plans

  • Coordinate across internal teams and external stakeholders

  • Drive go/no-go recommendations

  • Prepare projects for EPC handoff and maintain continuity through COD

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 7-12 years of experience in BESS, renewables, or data center development

  • Experience developing BTM energy systems, microgrids, or DER-integrated projects preferred

  • Strong knowledge of interconnection processes, permitting, and site control

  • Familiarity with data center or large-load development preferred

  • Experience managing cross-functional teams and external consultants

  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex schedules, budgets, and risk frameworks.

WORK AUTHORIZATION

The ideal candidate for this role will have authorization to work in the US prior to joining TransGrid Energy LLC. This role will not sponsor or offer assistance with the sponsorship for work authorization in the United States.
