Your opportunity
Our client is a nationwide provider of advanced material handling and automated warehouse logistics solutions. They specialize in the installation of automated storage and retrieval systems, robotics, and complex supply chain automation for e-commerce, retail, logistics, and grocery sectors.
The Project Manager is responsible for the end-to-end planning, coordination, and execution of installation projects, ensuring delivery aligns with schedule, budget, scope, and quality expectations. Working closely with project management leadership for guidance and development, this role partners cross-functionally with engineering, procurement, and field teams to deliver successful outcomes.
This role plays a critical part in executing projects while continuously developing leadership, planning, and communication capabilities to support growth into more senior project leadership roles. Up to 50% travel within the US and Canada should be anticipated.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Execution: Lead assigned projects from kickoff through closeout, maintaining work plans, milestones, and documentation
- Schedule & Resource Coordination: Track progress against timelines while coordinating labor, materials, equipment, construction tools, and subcontractors
- Financial Management: Track project budgets, costs, and forecasts, identifying variances and supporting cost control efforts to protect project margins
- Field & Equipment Operations: Operate job site machinery including scissor lifts and forklifts while supporting mechanical, electrical, or system installation activities
- Cross-Functional Alignment: Serve as the central point of contact between engineering, procurement, and field teams to facilitate updates and alignment discussions
- Stakeholder Communication: Maintain clear and timely communication with clients, field personnel, and internal leadership
- Risk & Change Management: Identify project risks, document scope or schedule changes, and escalate critical decisions to senior leadership
- Standards & Compliance: Ensure project activities comply with established safety, quality, and operational standards
- Continuous Improvement: Apply standardized templates and best practices while engaging in coaching and professional development sessions
Your Know-How
- 3 to 8 years of project management experience in construction, automation, industrial installation, or related fields
- Experience supporting or leading mechanical, electrical, or system installation projects
- Strong organizational, planning, and coordination skills
- Effective communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Proficiency in project scheduling and cost tracking tools
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% across North America
It’s a Bonus If
- You hold a PMP or equivalent project management certification, or are actively working toward one
- You have hands-on experience operating equipment such as scissor lifts, forklifts, or construction tools on project sites
- You have managed projects involving automated storage and retrieval systems or complex industrial material handling platforms
Compensation
As we are hiring for multiple PM roles at various levels across the full U.S. geography, specific compensation by location and level will be shared during the interview process.
