Role: Project Manager III

Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid)  

Duration: 12 Months Contract

 

The client requires a Project Manager III under the FAST contract to provide senior-level project management support for complex, enterprise-level initiatives. The resource will be responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating project activities, including scope, schedule, budget, risk, and stakeholder management across cross-functional teams. This role ensures successful delivery of projects by maintaining alignment with DPS objectives, governance standards, and established project management methodologies.

 

·        Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, resources, risk, and communication components.

·        Define project objectives, deliverables, milestones, and success criteria in collaboration with stakeholders.

·        Coordinate cross-functional teams, vendors, and business units to ensure alignment and execution of project activities.

·        Monitor project performance, track progress against milestones, and ensure timely escalation and resolution of issues and risks.

·        Facilitate stakeholder engagement, meetings, and status reporting to ensure clear communication and transparency.

·        Manage project scope changes through formal change control processes and ensure governance compliance.

·        Oversee vendor performance and deliverables when external contractors are involved.

·        Ensure adherence to DPS policies, state procurement requirements, and FAST contract guidelines.

·        Support project documentation, reporting, and administrative requirements throughout the project lifecycle.

·        Drive project closure activities, including final reporting, deliverable acceptance, and lessons learned documentation.

TERMS OF SERVICE

Services are expected to start 09/01/2026 and are expected to complete by 09/01/2027. Total estimated hours per Candidate shall not exceed 2000 hours. This service may be amended, renewed, and/or extended providing both parties agree to do so in writing.

 

WORK HOURS AND LOCATION

Services shall be provided during normal business hours unless otherwise coordinated through the Texas Department of Public Safety. Normal business hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, excluding State holidays when the agency is closed.

The primary work location(s) will be at 5805 North Lamar Blvd, Austin, TX 78752. The working position is Hybrid - On Site and Telework. Any and all travel, per diem, parking, and/or living expenses shall be at the Candidate's and/or Vendor's expense. Texas Department of Public Safety will provide pre-approved, written authorization for travel for any services to be performed away from the primary work location(s). Pre-approved travel expenses are limited to the rates and comply with the rules prescribed by the State of Texas for travel by its classified employees, including any requirement for original receipts.

The Candidate(s) may be required to work outside the normal business hours on weekends, evenings and holidays, as requested. Payment for work over 40 hours will be at the hourly rate quoted and must be coordinated and pre-approved through Texas Department of Public Safety.
