SSOE is looking to hire a Project Manager to join our team. This is an exceptional opportunity for a professional with a background in managing design-build projects within the advanced technology and high-tech industrial sectors. This person will provide engineering project management for a portfolio of projects from the initial concept through startup. You will partner with our multidisciplinary teams of architects, engineers, and designers to deliver exceptional results for our clients. This role offers the opportunity to lead and contribute to the development of innovative solutions for some of the world's leading technological companies. You will orchestrate cross-cultural collaboration, align stakeholders across time zones, and incorporate regional requirements to deliver consistent outcomes on complex projects.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and contribute to day-to-day coordination with international and domestic client and delivery teams, ensuring alignment on scope, schedule, and quality.
  • Responsible for the successful planning, execution, and closeout of complex design and design-build projects. This includes defining project objectives, establishing clear deliverables, and ensuring adherence to client requirements, industry standards, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Proactively identify, understand, and manage the project scope, ensuring alignment with client needs and business objectives. This includes detailed scopes of work, managing changes effectively through formal change control processes, and anticipating potential scope creep.
  • Develop and maintain integrated project schedules utilizing tools such as Deltek Vantagepoint. Effectively allocate resources, track progress against milestones, identify critical path activities, and proactively mitigate potential schedule delays.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with Discipline Leads, Department Managers, and project team members across all engineering and architectural disciplines. Facilitate effective communication, resolve interdisciplinary conflicts, and ensure seamless integration of design packages.
  • Serve as a point of contact for clients, contractors, regulatory agencies, and other key stakeholders. Lead and facilitate project meetings, prepare and deliver clear and concise project status reports, and proactively communicate potential risks and opportunities.
  • Identify potential project risks, develop comprehensive risk mitigation plans, and proactively implement strategies to minimize their impact.
  • Ensure that all activities adhere to SSOE's quality standards, client specifications, and relevant industry codes and regulations (e.g., IBC, NFPA, SEMI standards). Participate in design reviews and quality audits.
  • Provide proactive support during the construction phase, including reviewing contractor submittals, responding to RFIs, participating in construction progress meetings, and performing field verifications and site walks to ensure design intent is met.
  • Actively mentor and guide junior Project Managers, sharing your expertise, best practices, and lessons learned. Contribute to the development of internal project management processes and standards.
  • Champion a strong safety culture on all projects, ensuring compliance with SSOE's safety policies and client requirements. Actively participate in safety meetings and promote safe work practices.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Structural, or related technical discipline preferred).
  • Demonstrated project management experience, with a significant portion focused on the design and/or construction of industrial, advanced technology, or high-tech manufacturing facilities (e.g., semiconductor fabrication plants, data centers, pharmaceutical manufacturing).
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is highly desired.
  • Proficiency with project scheduling software, such as Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or similar. Experience with resource loading and critical path analysis is essential.
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-cultural, cross-time-zone project teams, adept at tailoring communication styles and governance to diverse audiences.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences in a multi-cultural environment. Proven ability to negotiate and resolve conflicts effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes and develop effective solutions.
  • Ability to perform field verifications and site walks in industrial environments, including the ability to navigate construction sites and potentially access elevated areas.

  • Salary: $115,000 – $140,000 per year, commensurate with location, education, and depth of experience.
